Abstract

Unemployment is one of the social problems occurring in almost every country in the world. In Indonesia itself, unemployment is dominated by vocational school graduates. Ideally, vocational schools are educational institutions that emphasize the formation of students to be ready and capable of facing the demands of the workforce and industry. However, in reality, vocational school graduates contribute significantly to the high rate of open unemployment in Indonesia. Therefore, various efforts and strategies have been made by various parties including schools to address this issue. One of these strategies is through the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Thus, the aim of this research is to describe and analyze the implementation of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila with the theme of employment as an effort to achieve vocational education goals carried out at SMK Syubbanul Wathon in Tegalrejo, Magelang Regency. The approach used in this research is qualitative research with a case study design. The techniques used by the researcher to collect research data are through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila  with the theme of employment not only shapes students to have abilities according to the demands of the business world and industry through activities such as creating job application letters and CVs as well as interview simulations but also shapes characters in accordance with the Pancasila student profile needed to compete in the global competence arena and support and provide a strong foundation for the competencies possessed by students to avoid misdirection.

Abstract

The role of civic education teachers is profoundly strategic in fostering awareness and legal compliance among students. That is because civic education holds a mission and purpose to shape intelligent and virtuous citizens. One of the indicators of a good citizen is one who abides by and adheres to the existing legal regulations. Therefore, this research aims to examine the strategies and roles of civic education teachers in cultivating awareness and legal compliance among students, especially considering the numerous cases of legal violations involving students nowadays. The research design employed a qualitative approach, specifically descriptive research. The data collection technique involved conducting interviews with several civic education teachers from both junior high schools and senior high/vocational schools who are part of the civic education teachers association in Magelang Regency and also engaging with alumni from UNNES who have teaching experience. The findings of this study indicate that the strategies and roles of civic education teachers in fostering awareness and legal compliance among students involve conducting activities such as socialization, mentoring and supervision, setting examples, motivation and habituation, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders. Thus, the various strategies implemented by several civic education teachers are expected to be able to create smart and good citizens by enhancing legal awareness and compliance, especially among students (younger generation), which will subsequently have an impact on improving the quality of human resources in a country, especially in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the development of legal education in Indonesia over time from the perspective of Citizenship Education, especially within the school environment. The method used in this research is normative legal research, enriched with literature studies. This research is motivated by various incidents of legal violations committed by different parties, reported through both print and electronic media. In fact, the existing legal rules in society are meant to serve as guidelines and directions for individuals and the community in their behavior and interactions with others, thus creating security, peace, and prosperity. Therefore, it is essential that legal education is instilled and taught from an early age. One effective and systematic avenue for teaching and internalizing legal education in society is through Citizenship Education in schools. This is because the subject includes legal material, both explicitly and implicitly. The results of this study indicate that legal content is taught at every grade level/phase with the aim of strengthening students' character, particularly their public character, one of which is adhering to the prevailing legal rules. Moreover, teaching Citizenship Education as legal education to students also needs to be balanced with teachers setting a good example to ensure that the legal education is effective.
