Abstract

Abstract The creed of all the teachings revealed by Allah to His Prophet to be conveyed to mankind is the same, there is no change in it. Faith in the names and attributes of Allah is part of the faith. However, from the time of the previous Salaf until now the issue of asthma wa shifat has become a debate, especially among scholars, so that various references are needed to refute this problem. One of them is Mahasin At-Ta'wil written by Muhammad Jamaluddin Al-Qasimi. In modern times, there has been no research on the interpretation of the attributes of Allah that refers to Al-Qasmi's thoughts, so this makes the writer interested in discussing the attributes of Allah based on Al-Qasimi's interpretation. The purpose of this study is to describe how Al-Qasimi interprets the attributes of Allah and how Al-Qasimi interprets them. This research focuses more on traits that are much debated, such as istiwa, kalam, kursiy, yad, ityan, and maiyah. This research uses library research and uses thematic interpretation method. The results of this study indicate that Al-Qasimi in interpreting the nature of Allah based on the salaf scholars. Al-Qasimi's method of interpreting the nature verses is to mention his opinion first. Furthermore, mention the opinion of other scholars to strengthen his opinion. In addition, sometimes Al-Qasimi also mentions some important discussions that must be considered, such as doubts in interpreting the nature of Allah and how to refute it.

Abstract

Abstract Scientific interpretation is one of the features of Al-Qur'an interpretation that has emerged since the 4th century H. Its existence which combines scientific matters (science) with the interpretation of the Qur'an invites several arguments from Islamic scholars in their time to the present day. The discussion about scientific interpretation has become a polemic among Muslims, especially among students of knowledge. This article was written with the aim of briefly explaining the different views of the scholars regarding the law of scientific interpretation. Starting from a brief history of its emergence, the basic concepts of scientific interpretation, and descriptions of several arguments from each group of scholars concerned. Comparison of opinions between scholars makes it easier for students of knowledge and all Muslims in general to analyze scientific interpretations. Regarding the law of its application, the scholars are divided into three groups; some confirmed, some rejected, and some others took the middle way which was later proposed by several scholars afterwards. This harmony finally brings peace and stability to all Muslims in viewing the position of scientific interpretation.

Abstract

Abstract   The study of the Quran, a revered scripture for humanity, is an imperative for Muslims. Yet, the Quran's intricate beauty, particularly its mutasyābihāt or ambiguous verses, poses challenges to direct comprehension. Expressions denoting Allah's attributes, such as majī' (glorious), are recurrent in the Quran and the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad. Scholars categorize these attributes as mutasyābihāt, emphasizing their inherent ambiguity, known only to Allah without the need for human interpretation or attribution of anthropomorphic meanings. This research delves into the interpretations of mutasyābihāt verses by Imams ar-Rāzī, az-Zamakhsyarī, and aṭ-Ṭabarī, aiming to elucidate their perspectives and highlight similarities and differences in their interpretations. Employing a literature review methodology, the findings indicate shared and distinct interpretations among the three scholars. For instance, aṭ-Ṭabarī's exposition of verses related to the majī' attribute in Surah al-Fajr (22), al-Baqarah (210), and al-An'am (158) underscores the genuine arrival of these attributes, distinct from the arrival of created beings. This comparative analysis contributes to a deeper understanding of the nuanced interpretations of mutasyābihāt verses, providing valuable insights into the diverse approaches employed by eminent Islamic scholars in deciphering the profound meanings embedded in the Quranic text.

This study aims to explain the verses of the Qur'an related to the religious minhaj of a Muslim and their interpretation and explain the religious minhaj of a Muslim in the Qur'an. This study uses the method of literature review (library research). This method is a method that discusses an idea in the Qur'an that is not stated explicitly but substantially the idea is contained in the Qur'an. The conclusion of this study shows that the Qur'an has explained how the religious minhaj is a Muslim. The sources in taking the Muslim minhaj are the Qur'an and the Sunnah with the reasoning of the as-salafuṣ aṣ-ṣâliḥ raḍiyallahu 'anhum. The religious minhaj of a Muslim includes always asking for guidance from Allah ta'âlâ, following in the footsteps of the as-salafuṣ aṣ-ṣâliḥ raḍiyallahu 'anhum, enjoining makruf nahi munkar, not following the path of misguidance and not dividing, always repenting and returning to Allah ta'âlâ, being hostile to people -people who are hostile to Islam, love each other, love and care for fellow Muslims, maintain the quality and quantity of muamalah with Allah ta'âlâ.
