Abstract

This study aims to enhance the critical thinking skills of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education Program by using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The subjects involved in this research are 30 students from the Elementary School Teacher Education Program at Yapis Papua University. The methodology applied is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments used in this study include learning devices, such as the Syllabus (SAP), Student Worksheets, test questions, and observation sheets to evaluate student activities and their critical thinking abilities. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative and comparative descriptive analysis techniques. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The results indicate that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. This improvement is reflected in the progress of students' activities from the first to the second cycle. Initially, before the intervention, the average score of students was 60.7, with a passing percentage of 37%. In the first cycle, the average class score increased to 73.8, with approximately 63% of students passing, and in the second cycle, the average class score rose to 80.0, with a passing percentage of 83%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach successfully enhances students' critical thinking skills. Keywords: RME, critical mathematical thinking skills Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Subjek yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 mahasiswa dari Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Universitas Yapis Papua. Metodologi yang diterapkan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) berdasarkan model Kemmis dan McTaggart, yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yakni perencanaan (plan), tindakan (action), pengamatan (observe), dan refleksi (reflect). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mencakup perangkat pembelajaran, termasuk Satuan Acara Perkuliahan (SAP), Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa, soal tes, dan lembar observasi untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas serta kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan teknik analisis kualitatif dan deskriptif komparatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Peningkatan ini terlihat dari aktivitas mahasiswa yang mengalami kemajuan dari siklus pertama ke siklus kedua. Hal ini terbukti pada kondisi awal sebelum dilaksanakan tindakan diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa 60,7 dimana persentasi mahasiswa yang lulus yaitu 37%, siklus I nilai rata-rata kelas yaitu sebesar 73,8 dengan persentasi mahasiswa yang lulus yaitu sekitar 63%, dan siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi dengan presentase sebesar 80,0 dan Persentase mahasiswa yang lulus yaitu sebesar 83%. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Abstract

One of the newest technological trends in education is game-based learning, or gamification. The use of game design features and principles in non-gaming situations, such education, to boost user motivation, engagement, and involvement is known as gamification. Gamification is a significant factor in making learning more engaging and fun for students in the setting of education. Gamification holds enormous promise for boosting student enthusiasm and involvement in the classroom. Gamification can be a useful tool in helping students have more meaningful and engaging learning experiences provided it is designed and implemented well. Student motivation and achievement can be significantly enhanced by the use of game-based learning. By creating interactive, immersive, and enjoyable learning experiences, this approach can stimulate student interest and improve the quality of their understanding of the subject matter. However, it should be remembered that the success of game-based learning lies in careful design, proper integration into the curriculum, and careful monitoring of student responses to ensure success in achieving learning objectives.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the Koranic solution in realizing family resilience through character education. This type of research uses a literature review with a narrative review design, namely looking for articles related to the koran's solution to realizing family resilience through character education that has been published. Existing journals and references obtained the results that Qur’an-based character education means instilling the values contained in the Qur’an as a guide. As the Prophet made the Qur'an as his character according to the meaning of the Qur'an surah Al Qalam verse 4. The character education in question can be used as a solution in building family resilience, where disputes and arguments that occur continuously in the family environment become the main factor in divorce cases can be minimized with Qur'anic values such as mutual respect, mutual respect, mutual love, mutual help and mutual attention to each family member.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to enhance children's knowledge and interest in learning outside of school activities. The learning process is a crucial step in achieving educational goals, with interaction and goal achievement as the focus. Structured planning and appropriate teaching methods are required, including learning resources and active interaction between educators and children. Learning media, especially instructional tools, play a vital role in facilitating the learning process, particularly in mathematics education such as plane geometry concepts. Teaching activities using plane geometry models are conducted in Sunday School to help children understand these concepts in hopes of enhancing effective and enjoyable learning. Through implementation involving model making, active teaching, and evaluation, it can be observed that the use of models positively influences children's level of understanding and interest in learning. Students' understanding level based on evaluation results is 77.33, and the interest survey results are at 3.751 or equivalent to 89%, indicating that children's interest in learning falls under the category of very good. Future recommendations include encouraging active participation of children, providing constructive feedback, collaborating with parents, and implementing engaging teaching approaches

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar matematika siswa setelah menerapkan model discovery learning pada siswa MAN 3 Yogyakarta tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas XI IPS 2 dengan jumlah siswa 27 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, siklus pertama dan kedua terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar observasi, lembar angket, dan tes tertulis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, angket, dan tes tertulis. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif pada setiap siklusnya. Kesimpulan setelah pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan, yaitu adanya peningkatan kemandirian belajar pada siswa kelas XI IPS 2 MAN 3 Yogyakarta pada mata pelajaran matematika. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil angket yang diberikan kepada siswa. Pada pra siklus 70% kemandirian belajar siswa berkategori sedang dan 30% berkategori rendah. Pada siklus I kemandirian belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 63% berkategori tinggi dan 37% berkategori sedang. Pada siklus II kemandirian belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 7% berkategori sangat tinggi, 74% berkategori tinggi dan 19% berkategori sedang. Selain itu, dari data hasil observasi kemandirian belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 71% menjadi 85%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemandirian belajar matematika siswa kelas XI IPS 2 MAN 3 Yogyakarta.
