Abstract

Religious organizations are a place and means for students to develop their abilities. This research aims to find out what the real motivations of students are to join religious organizations and what are the forms of student activity in religious organizations. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data sources were taken from 12 informants through in-depth interviews who were selected using techniques purposive sampling, all informants are students who are still active in religious organizations at Padang State University. All interview results were then analyzed thematically using the Analysis Interactive Model Milles & Hubberman analysis models. Overall the results of the analysis show that there are four motivations and six forms of student activity in religious organizations. The four motivations are i) wanting to deepen religious knowledge, ii) expanding relationships, iii) adding organizational experience, iv) according to the major in college. There are six forms of student activities in religious organizations, namely i) participating in Islamic studies/tabligh akbar/Islamic webinars, ii) discussing religious issues iii) raising funds for social assistance, iv) orphanage visits, v) becoming a committee/administrator of a religious organization, vi) training organizational basis. The results of this study can be used as initial data for further researchers in studying this problem in different contexts and issues.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of TPQ teachers’ competence in Arabic letter writing through the Art & Letter approach in Nagari Kampung Batu Dalam. The study focuses on teachers’ limited ability to write hijaiyah letters proportionally, weak mastery of stroke techniques, difficulties in distinguishing similar letters, and limited use of creative approaches in Qur’anic literacy instruction. A descriptive qualitative method was employed involving 15 TPQ teachers. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, practical Arabic writing tests, and documentation, and analyzed thematically to identify changes in teachers’ competencies and pedagogical experiences. The findings indicate improvements in Arabic writing skills, particularly in letter proportion accuracy, stroke control, and the ability to explain distinctions among similar hijaiyah letters. Teachers also demonstrated increased pedagogical creativity and self-confidence. This study concludes that the Art & Letter approach effectively improves the quality of Arabic letter writing instruction and strengthens Qur’anic literacy at the TPQ level.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman guru tentang penulisan khat Arabiy mengakibatkan tujuan pembelajaran khat berkaidah Ustmani di TPA (Taman Pendidikan Alquran) sulit dicapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru TPA dalam menulis khat naskhi melalui pelatihan dan pemberdayaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan adalah asset-based community development (ABCD) yang terdiri dari lima tahapan, yaitu: (i) identifikasi problematikan guru TPA mengajarkan khat, (ii) menentukan target capaian pelatihan, (iii) mendesain kegiatan Pengabdian, (iv) menentukan penanggungjawab kegiatan, dan (v) melaksanakan pelatihan khat secara mandiri. Asset yang diberdayakan adalah guru TPA yang terdiri dari 25 orang berasal dari 85 TPA Kecamatan Lintau Buo Tanah Datar. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa analisis induktif, dimana pelaksanaan pelatihan dan data pretest dan posttest menjadi alat ukur untuk menemukan peningkatan kemampuan guru TPA dalam menulis khat naskhi. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan guru menulis khat naskhi, dari mean 47,2 pada pretest meningkat menjadi mean 64,12 pada posttest. Berdasarkan nilai mutu, peningkatan ini sudah berada pada grade B, yang berarti kemampuan guru TPA berkembang sesui harapan. Pola pelatihan dilakukan menggunakan siklus peserta mencoba, guru mengoreksi, dan peserta memperbaiki. Sebagai kesimpulan, peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam khat naskhi menjamin keberlangsungan pembelajaran khat peserta didik di TPA.
