Abstract

Background : Adolescents need a lot of nutrients because of their rapid growth period. They are prone to anemia, especially iron deficiency anemia. It can increase hemoglobin levels by boiling Moringa leaves, which have nutritional levels of iron 5 times higher than spinach. Objective : To determine the effect of hemoglobin levels in female adolescents before and given Moringa leaf extract. Methods : The design of this study was quantitative with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The purposive sampling method was used in the sampling process. As many as 29 respondents were young women who experienced anemia. To carry out the intervention, the boiled water of Moringa leaves was drunk consecutively for 2 weeks (14 days) with a dose of 2 times a day, which was taken every morning and every evening. Results : From the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant effect between before and after administration of Moringa leaf extract because the p value <0.05. Conclusion : This study found that the intervention of Moringa leaf extract had an effect on increasing hemoglobin levels in female adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescence is the initial period of preparation for pregnancy, so it is necessary to strive for the best nutrition during adolescence. As we know, nutritional status during adolescence plays a very important role in a woman's preparation for pregnancy because of the high incidence of anemia in adolescents, so efforts for early detection and prevention of anemia in adolescents need to be vigilant. Health education about anemia and adolescent nutrition really needs to be given as initial preparation for teenagers to become mothers-to-be so that in the future the babies born will not experience growth and development problems, especially stunting. Nutritional problems that often occur in young women are lack of nutritional intake which will cause malnutrition, chronic lack of energy, lack of protein energy and anemia can occur. Objective: Increase knowledge and behavior of Aisyiyah cadres towards preventing anemia. Method: This empowerment activity was carried out in the village of Belimbing, Polokarto, Sukoharjo using the method of counseling and empowering cadres to utilize empty land to plant Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera). Results: If you look at the results of the pre-test and post-test calculations carried out during the activity, namely the results before the extension and empowerment activities were carried out, it is known that the knowledge obtained in the good category was 25% and after the extension and empowerment activities were carried out it increased to 55%. This empowerment activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of cadres in Belimbing Village as well as ways to prevent anemia through processed Moringa (Moringa Oleifera) leaf products.

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 21.6% in 2022 (SSGI). Early detection at Posyandu is often constrained by manual recording, which is time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to integrate with health systems. This study aimed to implement SI-MASTING (Stunting Early Detection Information System) to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of child growth monitoring. The study was conducted at Posyandu Sanggrahan, Sukoharjo, involving 95 cadres through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), along with trials on 11 toddlers. Results showed that SI-MASTING reduced the average recording time from 7.1 minutes to 2.4 minutes per child (66.2% efficiency) and decreased the error rate from 15.4% to 2.1% (86.3% accuracy improvement). Detection of children at risk of stunting increased from 48% to 92% (44% improvement). Cadre satisfaction was high, with an average score of 4.52 out of 5; ease of use received the highest rating of 4.67, followed by application speed at 4.58. In case testing, 45% of toddlers were identified as stunted, with the highest prevalence of 50% in the 12–18 month age group. In conclusion, SI-MASTING effectively accelerates early stunting detection, enhances data accuracy, and empowers cadres in nutritional interventions. The system has strong potential for integration with e-Puskesmas and replication in other regions as part of the national strategy to accelerate stunting reduction.
