Abstract

Motivation is an essential factor in teaching and learning activities. English is learned as a foreign language and is essential in every aspect, especially education. The researcher explored this study because he saw the enthusiasm of science students toward English. The purpose of this research is to find out what motivation the students majoring in science have. This research uses a descriptive qualitative design. In this study, the researcher examined two 32 students majoring in IPA MAN 1 Probolinggo d in learning English as a foreign language at the Darul Hikmah language dormitory: extrinsic motivation Data were collected through observation and interviews with ten questions to the participants. The researcher analyzed the data using the thematic analysis method. Based on the findings, the results of this study show that students have good extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. The extrinsic motivation possessed by students in this study is encouragement from parents, the desire to get a good job, and motivation from students of Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School who interact using English. For students, intrinsic motivation is the desire to interact fluently using English and open private lessons. In addition, the interview results show that the teacher's role also influences the students' learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini disusun dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik menggunakan Teaching at the Right of Level Approach (TaRL) dengan model problem based learning berbantuan video animasi pada mata pelajaran IPAS pada peserta didik kelas IVA SDN 50 Kota Bengkulu Tahun Ajaran 2022023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), Desain penelitian ini menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023, yaitu pada bulan Mei. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IVA SDN 50 Kota Bengkulu yang terdiri dari 22 peserta didik. Objek penelitian adalah hasil belajar peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keaktifan belajar peserta didik, yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 68,18% (kategori cukup), kemudian pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 89,65% (kategori sangat baik). Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan sebesar 21,47%. Dengan demikian penggunaan menggunakan Teaching at the Right of Level Approach (TaRL) dengan model problem based learning berbantuan video animasi pada mata pelajaran IPAS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas IVA SDN 50 Kota Bengkulu. ABSTRACT This research was designed to improve participant learning outcomes for students using the Teaching at the Right of Level Approach (TaRL) with a problem-based learning model assisted by animated videos in subjects IPAS for class IVA students at SDN 50 Bengkulu City in the academic year 2022023. This type of research is called classroom action research (PTK) design. This research uses the Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart. This research was held in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, namely in May. The subjects of this research were IVA students from SDN 50 Bengkulu City, which consisted of 22 students. The object of research is the learning outcomes of students. Data collection techniques use observation and interviews. Data is analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of tables and graphs. Results research shows an increase in students' learning activeness; in cycle I, it was 68.18% (sufficient category), then in cycle II, it increased to 89.65% (outstanding category). This means an increase of 21.47%. Thus, the use of Teaching at the Right of Level Approach (TaRL) with a video-assisted problem-based learning model Animation in science subjects can improve student learning outcomes in class IVA SDN 50 Bengkulu City.
