Abstract

This research examines the numeracy skills of high school students in Pacitan Regency based on the 2024 education report. The analysis results indicate a significant improvement in overall numeracy scores, reaching 83.62%, which is a 22.05% increase from the previous year. Numeracy proficiency distribution shows that a majority of students (61.64%) have met or exceeded competency standards. Further analysis reveals enhancements across all mathematical competency domains, including numbers, algebra, geometry, and data. These findings reflect the effectiveness of educational strategies implemented in Pacitan Regency in enhancing students' understanding of diverse mathematical concepts. The implications of this study underscore the importance of reinforcing evidence-based educational strategies to improve mathematics education quality at the high school level. Thus, this research not only provides a comprehensive overview of students' numeracy skills in Pacitan Regency but also lays the groundwork for developing more effective educational policies in the future.

Abstract

Learning mathematics during the COVID-19 pandemic encountered many obstacles, especially at the elementary school level. The application of learning at home makes elementary school students less guided so that the delivery of material is not optimal. Rapid technological developments can facilitate the implementation of mathematics learning for elementary school students, namely the use of interactive digital media in learning mathematics. This study aims to design an application that can be used as a medium for learning mathematics, especially the material for number operations, this application is named DGMATH. The method used is the Research and Development (RnD) method with a 4D model (Define, Design, Development and Disseminate). The instrument used is a usability test, namely the usability heuristic model and the System Usability Scale. The usability heuristic model with five (5) usability indicators, namely learnability, memorability, efficiency, errors and satisfaction were addressed to four (4) experts. The results obtained are that four indicators are included in very good criteria, namely 4.5 for the learnability and satisfaction indicators, 4.125 for the memorability and efficiency indicators, while 3.5 for the errors indicator which is included in the good criteria. The System Usability Scale model is addressed to 30 students who are end users of the DGMATH application with a score of 77.3 which is included in the acceptable criteria.

Abstract

Learning mathematics for students at the elementary school level is an important lesson to be concern. Learning model to use is a student centered learning model. DGMATH-based PBL is a student centered learning model and uses a DGMATH application that contain main subject is elementary arithmetic. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of DGMATH-based PBL learning and measure how much influence student motivation had on learning outcomes from the implementation of DGMATH-based PBL learning. The method used is a quantitative method to test the effectiveness and regression test to learning motivation on DGMATH-based PBL learning with the subject of first grade students (1) SD Islam Insan Cendekia with a total of 60 students. The instruments used were learning tools, pre-test questions, post-test questions and student learning motivation questionnaires. The research results showed that in the completeness test the results were 82.83 in DGMATH-based PBL learning and in the average difference test with a sig value of 0.015 <0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that DGMATH-based PBL learning has proven effective and learning motivation has an influence of 76% on learning outcomes.
