Abstract

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) learning curriculum is a teacher's teaching tool as a learning guide that suits the child's character so that they can compete globally. Innovation is needed in the 2013 Curriculum in the form of curriculum development which is the foundation or basis of education in maximizing aspects of children's development, namely learning with a scientific approach that can stimulate children's thinking abilities, reasoning abilities and analytical abilities. Even though learning through the Independent Curriculum is being promoted, learning with a scientific approach in the 2013 Curriculum is still exciting, especially if presented in the form of educational games which are popular with children. Learning with a scientific approach is very important for children because this learning can increase children's understanding of literacy and numeracy, understand the applicable rules, and have critical reasoning. This research aims to provide information to all ECE educators and parents about the application of learning with a scientific approach in developing the 2013 ECE curriculum. Researchers use library research with a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using documentation. The research subjects are books, articles, or readings and reference sources related to the scientific approach in developing the 2013 ECE Curriculum. The research results found that learning with a scientific approach is very well implemented ECE units because this approach has a child-centred character, develops children's potential, increases children's learning motivation, develops children's attitudes and character, and improves children's communication skills. Apart from that, the scientific approach is designed to actively involve children through the process of asking, observing, gathering information, reasoning or making associations, and communicating it in learning. From the research results, it was concluded that the scientific approach in developing the 2013 ECE curriculum emphasizes the use of scientific methods and approaches that develop critical, creative and innovative thinking skills in early childhood.

Abstract

The development of gross motor skills in children is an important factor in carrying out all life activities because it is closely related to the physical and intellectual condition of children. There are still many children aged 5-6 years who have not been able to complete their activities independently because they often get help from adults. Children aged 5-6 years tend to prefer to sit back and relax while playing with gadgets because they don’t require a lot of energy. This study aims to improve children’s gross motor skills through traditional gymnastic activities using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The data analysis technique used is to collect data, reduce data, present data, and conclude observations. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of observations are described in a narrative description. Indicators of success are shown by the Developing As Expected (BSH) and Very Well Developing (BSB) categories. The results of the research at the end of the remedial activity, which is on the fifth day of cycle 2, show that the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years have shown the BSH and BSB categories. This indicates that the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years through traditional gymnastic activities have increased optimally.

Abstract

Komunitas Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG) merupakan wadah berbagi praktik baik di antara guru-guru Taman Kanak-kanak. Komunitas ini sangat bermanfaat bagi para guru karena dapat meningkatkan skill dan kompetensi dalam hal pembelajaran. Berbagai macam kegiatan sudah dilaksanakan melalui komunitas KKG, salah satunya adalah kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan google workspace for education, yaitu pelatihan yang memanfaatkan aplikasi google untuk menunjang aktivitas guru. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di lingkungan KKG Prima Ceria, Kecamatan Balikpapan Kota dengan jumlah peserta 50 orang. Sebelum kegiatan pelatihan dimulai, peserta diberikan pre test untuk melihat kemampuan awal peserta, dan diperoleh hasil bahwa mayoritas guru-guru TK di lingkungan KKG Prima Ceria Kecamatan Balikpapan Kota belum menguasai fitur google workspace for education. Setelah dilaksanakannya pelatihan, guru-guru diberikan post test dan hasil menunjukkan adanya kenaikan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan fitur utama google workplace for education.
