Abstract

Small Press Machine Line A in the Stamping & Tools Division of PT. Mekar Armada Jaya produces car and body parts as effectively as possible to increase productivity. However, the performance of the machine and the maintenance system that is carried out is not comprehensive on aspects of the Small Press Machine and takes a long time, causing high machine downtime, this affects the smooth running of the production process. Therefore, measuring effectiveness uses Method the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Six Big Losses and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). Research results for January 2021 – December 2022, namely the A1 Machine is 82%, the A2 Machine is 76% and the A3 Machine is 58%. The loss factor of the three machines is caused by Equipment Failure Loss (equipment damage loss). The results of the analysis using the FMEA method show that the failures that often occur in the three machines include the engine having an over stroke, the work method is due to the visual check method, and the engine has been repaired by an AIDA technician. So, it is suggested that in order to increase the effectiveness of the Small Press Line A machine, the Stamping & Tools Division should apply FMEA method to look for components or processes that have failed, whether humans, machines, work methods, or materials.

Abstract

UMKM Keripik Bariklana is one of the cassava-based food processing businesses established in 2015 and located in Sumurarum Village, Grabag District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. UMKM Keripik Bariklana produces one variant of cassava balado chips with an average production capacity of 1,500 kg of cassava chips per month which is worked on by 6 male workers and 4 female workers. However, UMKM Keripik Bariklana still faces problems in its production process, namely there are still defective products in the form of crushed chips and broken chips. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that cause the emergence of defective products and provide suggestions for improvements aimed at achieving zero defect products of UMKM Keripik Bariklana. The method used in quality control to achieve zero product defects is using the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method. After being analyzed with a fishbone diagram, the results of this study showed that the factors causing defective cassava chips are Material, Machine, Method and Man. Improvements made to achieve zero product defects are that before purchasing raw materials, the age of cassava must be checked until harvest time, weather factors, and the characteristics of cassava from each different region must be checked. Employees are given useful training to increase knowledge and develop skills in the cassava chips making process. Carefully adjust and check machine components before use in the production process, such as sharpening knives if the blade is blunt and replacing components if any are damaged. It is necessary to review the work method whether employees understand and understand the work method, for that it is necessary to design a more systematic one and use language that is easier to understand. So that the SOP that is made can be run properly and correctly

Abstract

Jladri Shrimp Farm is a shrimp farm that has promising economic prospects, especially as Indonesia's leading export commodity. This pond faces various challenges from technical, economic and environmental aspects that can affect its sustainability. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of Vaname shrimp farming in Jladri Shrimp Pond based on these three aspects in order to provide recommendations for sustainable business development. The results showed that technically, this farm has an average Survival Rate (SR) value above 70%, which indicates a good Survival Rate of shrimp, as well as Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) values ranging from 0.85 to 1.1, which indicates optimal feed efficiency. From an economic point to view, significant results were obtained as evidenced by the Payback Period of 1 year 6 months 14 days, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp 7,516,119,200, a Profitability Index (PI) of 7.54, and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 111%. However, the environmental assessment showed that carbon emissions from electricity and fuel consumption exceeded the standards set, indicating the need for increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy to reduce environmental impacts and improve the sustainability of shrimp farming.
