This article discusses the challenges of radicalism in the interpretation of the Koran and presents a multicultural and dialogical approach as an effective solution. Radicalism in religious interpretation often results in social tension and conflict between groups. In the Islamic context, the Koran is often misused to justify radical actions that are contrary to human values and tolerance. The multicultural approach emphasizes the importance of respecting diversity in understanding religion and culture, while the dialogic approach encourages dialogue between various groups to achieve a deeper and more inclusive understanding. This article analyzes how applying this approach can help overcome radicalism and promote social harmony and a more accurate understanding of the teachings of the Qur'an. Through this discussion, it is hoped that a broader understanding will emerge about the importance of a multicultural and dialogical approach in responding to the challenges of radicalism in the interpretation of the Al-Qur'an.

AbstractThis research is driven by the urgent need to understand how critical reasoning and moderation can be integrated into the interpretation of the Qur'an, particularly in addressing contemporary challenges such as radicalism and the misinterpretation of religious texts. The study aims to explore and formulate an interpretive approach that is not only deep but also capable of integrating critical reasoning with the principles of moderation in understanding the teachings of the Qur'an. The research employs a qualitative approach, focusing on text analysis and literature review. This study includes an examination of both classical and contemporary exegetical works to understand the various interpretive approaches available. Additionally, the research involves in-depth interviews with Qur'anic scholars and ulama to gain a more comprehensive and diverse perspective on the best ways to combine critical reasoning and moderation in the context of Qur'anic interpretation. The findings indicate that combining critical reasoning with the principles of moderation in Qur'anic interpretation can result in a more comprehensive, relevant, and contextual understanding of sacred texts, which not only aligns with current social realities but also contributes to the development of a more inclusive and adaptive Qur'anic exegesis that responds to the ever-changing dynamics of the times.Keywords: Criticality; Qur'anic Interpretation; Tolerance. AbstrakPenelitian ini didorong oleh kebutuhan mendesak untuk memahami bagaimana nalar kritis dan moderasi dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam penafsiran Al-Qur'an, terutama dalam menjawab tantangan kontemporer seperti radikalisme dan penyalahgunaan penafsiran teks-teks keagamaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan merumuskan pendekatan penafsiran yang tidak hanya mendalam, tetapi juga mampu mengintegrasikan nalar kritis dengan prinsip-prinsip moderasi dalam memahami ajaran-ajaran Al-Qur'an. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan fokus pada analisis teks dan tinjauan literatur. Penelitian ini mencakup kajian terhadap karya-karya tafsir klasik dan kontemporer untuk memahami berbagai pendekatan penafsiran yang tersedia. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan para sarjana dan ulama Alquran untuk mendapatkan perspektif yang lebih komprehensif dan beragam tentang cara-cara terbaik untuk menggabungkan nalar kritis dan moderasi dalam konteks penafsiran Alquran. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa menggabungkan nalar kritis dengan prinsip-prinsip moderasi dalam penafsiran Alquran dapat menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif, relevan, dan kontekstual terhadap teks-teks suci, yang tidak hanya selaras dengan realitas sosial saat ini, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pengembangan penafsiran Alquran yang lebih inklusif dan adaptif yang merespons dinamika zaman yang terus berubah. Artikel ini mengkaji otoritas sanad dalam hadis dari perspektif antropologi, dengan menyoroti bagaimana konstruksi sosial dan kepercayaan komunitas terhadap perawi mempengaruhi validitas transmisi hadis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami faktor-faktor non-teknis yang berkontribusi terhadap penerimaan atau penolakan suatu hadis dalam berbagai komunitas Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan historis-kritis dan analisis sosial untuk mengungkap dinamika sosial yang memengaruhi perkembangan sanad. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa otoritas sanad tidak hanya didasarkan pada keakuratan transmisi lisan, tetapi juga pada modal simbolik perawi, yang meliputi status sosial, afiliasi politik, dan jaringan intelektualnya. Selain itu, teori common link G.H.A. Juynboll mengindikasikan bahwa sanad dalam beberapa kasus dikonstruksi ulang untuk memperkuat legitimasi suatu kelompok atau mazhab. Studi ini juga menemukan bahwa penerimaan sanad berbeda di setiap komunitas, tergantung pada kepercayaan kolektif mereka terhadap perawi tertentu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa studi kritik sanad perlu mempertimbangkan aspek sosial dan politik dalam analisisnya. Pendekatan interdisipliner yang menggabungkan ilmu hadis dengan antropologi dan sosiologi dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam mengenai dinamika transmisi hadis dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi otoritas sanad dalam sejarah Islam.

While contextual approaches frequently lack this epistemic anchor, which raises questions about legitimacy, classical Islamic scholarship emphasizes sanad (chain of transmission) as the primary criterion for authenticating Qur'anic interpretations based on Prophetic traditions. By combining sanad-based validation with maqasid al-shari‘ah (higher objectives of Islamic law), this study offers a compromise that results in interpretations that are both legitimate and pertinent. The framework involves two steps: first, isnad-based validation using isnad and matn criticism to verify textual authenticity (riwayah sahihah); second, maqasid-driven interpretation using the values of public welfare, justice, and mercy to bring meaning into line with modern contexts. By ensuring authenticity comes before contextualization, this "double validation" lessens subjective bias while maintaining epistemic authority. The innovation resides in overcoming the riwayah–dirayah divide using a methodical approach that blends purposive interpretation with authenticity protections. In terms of methodology, the study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach that includes textual analysis of both modern tafsir literature influenced by the maqasidi paradigm and classical hadith sources. It uses hermeneutical interpretation to link textual meaning to socio-historical realities, content analysis to identify themes, and isnad–matn criticism to evaluate reliability. The end effect is a methodology that is both responsive to contemporary issues and steadfast in its adherence to Islamic epistemology, maintaining the normative function of sanad while permitting context-sensitive Qur'anic interpretations.

Fenomena herd mentality atau mentalitas kawanan semakin menguat di era digital, terutama dalam interaksi keagamaan di media sosial. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana hadis Nabi dapat memberikan wawasan dalam menghadapi fenomena ini, dengan menyoroti prinsip-prinsip kritis dalam berpikir dan bermedia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dampak herd mentality dalam Islam digital serta menelusuri bagaimana ajaran Nabi mengajarkan 0eimbangan antara mengikuti mayoritas dan berpikir independen. Penelitian ini menggunakan tode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis), mengkaji hadis-hadis yang berkaitan dengan konformitas sosial, berpikir kritis, dan penyebaran informasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menelaah fenomena viralitas dalam diskursus keislaman di media sosial melalui studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa herd mentality di dunia digital dapat menyebabkan penyebaran informasi agama yang tidak tervalidasi, penguatan polarisasi keagamaan, dan pembentukan echo chambers yang menghambat pemikiran kritis. Hadis Nabi menekankan pentingnya tabayyun (verifikasi informasi), tidak tergesa-gesa dalam menerima informasi, serta keseimbangan antara mengikuti jamaah dan bersikap kritis terhadap arus mayoritas. Kesimpulannya, ajaran Nabi memberikan prinsip-prinsip yang relevan untuk menangkal dampak negatif herd mentality di era media sosial. Dengan menerapkan nilai-nilai seperti tabayyun dan sikap kritis, umat Islam dapat lebih bijak dalam menyikapi tren viral keagamaan dan tidak terjebak dalam pola pikir kolektif yang tidak teruji.

This article discusses the principle of al-nahi (prohibition) in the context of QS. Al-Māidah verses 6 and 8, particularly its relevance to social media ethics in the Indonesian digital era. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the principle of al-nahi can be applied in the context of social media use, especially in preventing the spread of hoaxes, slander, and hate speech. This study uses a qualitative method with a thematic interpretation (maudhu'i) approach. The results show that the principle of al-nahi in QS. Al-Māidah verses 6 and 8 provides an important principle for building healthy social media ethics, namely by preventing actions that lead to moral, social, and religious damage. Verse 6 contains the importance of maintaining moral purity, for example, before posting or commenting, a person must ensure that their intentions are free from hatred, slander, or lies. Meanwhile, in verse 8, when a person wants to spread news or comment on a particular issue, they must maintain objectivity and not get carried away by emotions, and are prohibited from spreading hoaxes and hate speech. This prohibition reflects the urgency of maintaining justice and truth in digital communication.
