Abstract

The increasing of elderly population, the prevalence of joint diseases including hip joints, and the need for a holistic approach to patient care have become major concerns in the development of prehabilitation exercise strategies that can be effectively applied. The length of stay, functional abilities, daily living activities, and post-total hip replacement (THR) quality of life are areas that need continuous improvement. This research aims to analyze the impact of prehabilitation exercises on post-operative outcomes in patients undergoing total hip replacement for hip osteoarthritis. A literature review study was conducted using PICO and MeSH search strategies in four databases, namely ProQuest, ScienceDirect, EMBASE, and MEDLINE. The screening process was performed according to criteria, and critical appraisal was conducted using a checklist. The literature search yielded a total of 20 articles meeting the criteria, indicating an impact on functional capacity in 12 articles and no impact in 4 articles. The length of hospital stay was discussed in 6 articles with the results of 3 significant articles and 3 insignificant articles. The most recommended type of exercise was strengthening/resistance exercise combined with endurance training. Although there is no guideline for prehabilitation exercises, it is recommended to perform exercises at least twice a week for a minimum of six weeks before surgery. Analysis indicates that prehabilitation exercises, especially strengthening and endurance exercises, are effective in improving functional capacity.

Abstract

Background: Total knee replacement (TKR) is a common orthopedic surgical procedure for advanced knee osteoarthritis (OA). Early mobilization is a rehabilitation strategy that needs to be considered to facilitate optimal recovery post-TKR. Despite the proposed benefits of early mobilization, there is no strong consensus in the literature regarding its effectiveness in post-TKR patients. Therefore, it is important to conduct a comprehensive literature review to evaluate existing evidence on the impact of early mobilization on post-TKR recovery. This will help strengthen understanding of the benefits and influencing factors on post-TKR rehabilitation outcomes. Method: This study is a qualitative research with a narrative review approach. Article searches were conducted using the online databases EBSCO, SCOPUS, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. Literature identification was performed using the PICO search strategy. Results: The initial search with full-text articles yielded 4153 articles. Study selection was based on pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 20 final articles that will be qualitatively synthesized. Conclusion: Early mobilization is significantly associated with a reduction in the length of stay for post-TKR patients. Mobilization starting from day 0 of the operation will shorten the hospitalization duration. Additionally, early mobilization has been proven to decrease the risk of complications, thereby preventing prolonged care.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh latihan Double Leg Speed Hop terhadap kecepatan tendangan sabit pada atlet pencak silat junior di Terate Champs DKI. Tendangan sabit merupakan teknik serangan fundamental yang memerlukan kombinasi kecepatan, daya ledak, dan koordinasi optimal. Metode penelitian menggunakan pra-eksperimental dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang melibatkan 20 atlet berusia 12-17 tahun (rata-rata 14,45 ± 1,50 tahun), terdiri dari 13 atlet laki-laki dan 7 atlet perempuan. Intervensi latihan plyometric dilaksanakan selama 6 minggu dengan frekuensi 3 kali per minggu di Terate Champs DKI Jakarta Selatan. Instrumen pengukuran menggunakan tes kecepatan tendangan sabit yang dikembangkan Lubis (2016) dengan validitas 0,688 dan reliabilitas 0,814. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji Paired T-Test setelah uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan kecepatan tendangan sabit dari pretest 16,7 ± 1,4 (kategori "Kurang-Cukup") menjadi posttest 21,7 ± 2,6 (kategori "Cukup-Baik Sekali") dengan p-value 0,001 (p < 0,05). Peningkatan terjadi melalui adaptasi neuromuskular yang mengoptimalkan mekanisme Stretch-Shortening Cycle (SSC), meningkatkan efisiensi stretch reflex, dan memperkuat koordinasi intramuskular serta intermuskular. Latihan Double Leg Speed Hop terbukti efektif sebagai metode pelatihan untuk meningkatkan performa tendangan sabit pada atlet pencak silat junior.

Abstract

Keseimbangan statis merupakan komponen fundamental dalam pencak silat yang berperan penting dalam kontrol postural, efektivitas teknik, dan pencegahan cedera. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh latihan front plank terhadap keseimbangan statis pada atlet pencak silat junior di PSHT Ranting Pancoran. Penelitian menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest design yang melibatkan 22 atlet berusia 12-17 tahun (14,31 ± 1,21 tahun) yang direkrut melalui teknik total sampling. Intervensi berupa latihan front plank dilakukan selama 6 minggu dengan frekuensi 3 kali per minggu. Keseimbangan statis diukur menggunakan standing stork test sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan rata-rata skor keseimbangan statis dari 29,45 ± 3,33 detik menjadi 36,99 ± 2,99 detik (p = 0,001). Uji paired t-test mengonfirmasi adanya perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest, dengan penurunan standar deviasi mengindikasikan konsistensi efek latihan pada seluruh subjek. Peningkatan ini terjadi melalui penguatan otot core dan adaptasi neuromuskular yang memperbaiki kontrol postural. Disimpulkan bahwa latihan front plank efektif meningkatkan keseimbangan statis atlet pencak silat junior dan dapat diintegrasikan dalam program latihan rutin sebagai metode aplikatif untuk optimalisasi performa dan pencegahan cedera.
