Abstract

Language errors occur because the speaker violates the grammatical rules being studied (breaches of code). There is an assumption that the cause of such errors is due to the influence of interlingual and intralingual factors, namely the presence of language contact and a high level of complexity of the target language. This problem underlies the conduct of research on the language process of Chinese students learning Indonesian in the 2022/2023 Gasal Semester Rhetoric course. Thus, this study aims to determine the form of errors in the language of morphology in speech texts as well as the causes of errors that occur. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The collection uses the listening method with basic tapping techniques, note-taking techniques, and observation techniques. The data source consists of 22 of speech texts and 26 sample sentences. Based on the results of the study, it was found that (1) Affixation errors include: (a) Removal of affixes and (b) Improper use of affixes; (2) The cause of language errors is due to the influence of the learner's B1 (L1 dependent error) and other factors outside of B1 (L1 independent error), including (a) Interference or negative transfer; (b) Teaching techniques; (c) Bilingual age; (d) The sociolinguistic situation of the learner. Kesalahan berbahasa terjadi karena penutur melanggar kaidah tata bahasa yang sedang dipelajari (breaches of code). Ada anggapan bahwa penyebab kesalahan tersebut karena pengaruh faktor interlingual dan intralingual, yaitu adanya kontak bahasa dan tingkat kerumitan bahasa sasaran yang tinggi. Persoalan inilah yang mendasari dilaksanakan penelitian terhadap proses berbahasa mahasiswa Tiongkok pembelajar bahasa Indonesia dalam mata kuliah Retorika Semester Gasal Tahun 2022/2023. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk kesalahan dalam berbahasa bidang morfologi pada teks pidato sekaligus penyebab kesalahan yang terjadi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak dengan teknik dasar sadap dan teknik catat serta observasi. Sumber data berupa 22 kumpulan teks pidato dan 26 kalimat sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan (1) Kesalahan afiksasi meliputi: (a) Penghilangan afiks dan (b) Penggunaan afiks yang tidak tepat; (2) Penyebab kesalahan berbahasa karena pengaruh B1 pembelajar (L1 dependent error) dan faktor lain di luar B1 (L1 independent error), meliputi (a) Interferensi atau transfer negatif; (b) Teknik pengajaran; (c) Usia kedwibahasaan; (d) Situasi sosiolinguistik pembelajar.

Abstract

This research discusses epistemic violence against subaltern subjects who work through Western knowledge mechanisms so that all knowledge truths are measured using scientific and scientific schemes. The aim of this research is to understand the discourse of epistemic violence during the Covid-19 pandemic from Foucault's perspective through reading genealogy during the Covid-19 pandemic in information media from government websites and mass media. The research method in this study uses Foucault's discourse analysis which is based on the 'genealogy' method strategy to find an episteme that is converged with the term power-knowledge. The subject of this research is news discourse during Covid-19, while the object of this research is epistemic violence in news discourse during Covid-19. The news sources for this research are classified based on online media news texts which contain the production of knowledge discourse and regulations for handling Covid-19 which have the potential for epistemic violence. Data collection techniques in this research apply document review techniques, libraries, listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The research results show that there is epistemic violence perpetrated by the West against the East through discourses of knowledge and science during the spread and handling of Covid-19. This epistemic violence includes stereotype epistemic violence, discrimination epistemic violence, testimonial epistemic violence, distributional epistemic violence.

Abstract

Kearifan ekologis berperan penting dalam membentuk nilai-nilai karakter bagi perubahan sosial yang lebih luas cakupannya. Konsep tersebut mengajarkan karakter cinta lingkungan yang berkelanjutan. Karakter tersebut memiliki pengaruh sebagai sarana pemahaman nilai pendidikan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap kearifan ekologis dalam Novel Bara sebagai sarana pemahaman nilai pendidikan lingkungan. Studi ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui pembacaan yang ekstensif, analisis, dan dokumentasi temuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis konten yang sesuai dengan kerangka teori ekokritik sastra. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan ialah tentang kearifan ekologis dalam novel Bara yang dapat menjadi landasan dalam membentuk karakter cinta lingkungan. Karakter tokoh utamanya mampu membentuk pemahaman kepada pembacanya tentang cara memperlakukan alam dengan semestinya. Di dalamnya terdapat pemahaman dan pengetahuan yang berperan penting dalam melestarikan lingkungan. Karya sastra yang menitikberatkan pada nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter cinta lingkungan memiliki kebermanfaatan bagi siswa di sekolah. Siswa dapat lebih mencintai dan melestarikan alam melalui karya sastra yang dibaca misalnya novel Bara.Kata kunci: Kearifan Ekologis, Nilai Pendidikan Lingkungan, Novel Bara

Abstract

The discourse of colonial and colonized conflicts is oriented in the form of resentment and hatred of the colonized community as part of the causality of traumatic events. The wounds of the past are then passed down through the concept of memory transmission both by famillial mechanism memory and affillial memory by first-generation to post-generation. It is this hereditary traumatic condition that contributes to maintaining the discourse of inferiority and binaryism between East and West. Thus, the purpose of this study is to describe the conflicts of colonizers and postcolonial colonizers as well as examine the efforts of Iksaka Banu to release these traumatic shackles through reconciliation and resistance efforts. This research method uses Teun van Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK). Dijk which is based on the analysis of the text dimension, the social cognition dimension, and the social context dimension. Data collection techniques in this study apply listening methods and advanced recording techniques, and document review techniques. The results showed that (1) A review of the dimensions of the text showed a reconstruction of the ambivalence and traumatic of Western subjects in the short stories of Iksaka Banu; (2) A study of the dimensions of social cognition shows that the reconstruction pattern of ambivalence and traumatic of the Western subject is used as Iksaka Banu's strategy to carry out traumatic reconciliation of colonized subjects as well as resistance to Western domination and hegemony; (3) A study of the social context shows two findings of the problem, First, the existence of social inequality over the mechanisms of Western domination and hegemony; Second, even so, Indonesian society is still confined by the problem of trauma while awareness of the subject's position on the condition of social reality cannot be managed as a potential resistance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language impairment experienced by Ameh, a person with Broca's aphasia caused by a traumatic brain injury resulting from a motorcycle accident. Broca's aphasia is characterized by impaired speech production, although language comprehension remains relatively intact. This study focused on identifying patterns of language impairment such as phonological and syntactic deviations, limited verbal fluency, and the use of nonverbal communication strategies as a form of compensation. The method used was a qualitative descriptive case study. Data were obtained through conversational methods with Ameh's family and documentation related to his language activities. Meanwhile, the data analysis employed the articulatory matching method, which involves examining speech sound production by comparing Ameh’s articulatory patterns with standard phonological forms to identify deviations in phoneme realization and speech articulation. The results showed that Ameh experienced impaired speech production, difficulty in conveying ideas verbally, impaired social interaction and daily dynamics, syntactic deviations and difficulties in sentence construction, and limitations in maintaining two-way conversations. This study provides a new contribution to the field of psycholinguistics by highlighting the etiology of brain trauma, which has rarely been studied in depth in Indonesia. This study is also expected to serve as a reference for families, therapists, and caregivers in supporting the communication process of people with aphasia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe forms of sexism in posts about Lisa Mariana’s latest appearance on Instagram @lambeturah through Sara Mills’ critical discourse analysis approach, reviewed from the perspective of the subject-object and reader’s position. This is based on the rampant discussion through negative comments on social media related to women who are victims of beauty construction and objectification based on their bad actions. The source of this research is netizen comments on posts on the Instagram account @lambeturah featuring Lisa Mariana’s latest appearance. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data collection method used the observation method with the advanced mote-taking technique.. Data analysis used the referential matching method with the basic technique of sorting determining elements (PUP). The results of this study show that there were 9 sexist comments and 6 reader responses to the sexist comments. Using Sara Mills subject-object and reader positions analysis model, the netizens who made sexist comments about Lisa Mariana were positioned as subjects who had the power to represent the object position or Lisa Mariana in a negative way, such as labeling, judging, defening, interpreting, evaluating, and interpreting Lisa Mariaa’s body, as well as determining what was appropriate to do in response to the affair. The reader’s position is divided between those who rejected sexism, reproduced sexism as a joke, and accepted sexism through body shaming practices.
