Abstract

This research examines how inflation, interest rates, and government spending affect Indonesia's economic growth by utilizing the Error Correction Model (ECM) with time series data from 2000 to 2023. The processed data reveal that, in the short run, both inflation and interest rates negatively impact economic growth, showing coefficients of -0.009436 and -0.068359, respectively, though these effects are not significant in a statistical sense. In contrast, government expenditure has a notable positive effect, with a coefficient of 1.415698. Over the long term, managed inflation contributes a slight positive impact (0.015933), while interest rates persist in exerting a significant negative effect (-0.142703). Government expenditure maintains a robust positive effect, illustrated by a coefficient of 1.168041, highlighting the importance of effective budget management. This research offers empirical insights into the interactions of fiscal and monetary policies in fostering sustainable economic growth in Indonesia and provides actionable recommendations for policymakers to create effective strategies.

Abstract

Demand for money is an important indicator in the economy that reflects the needs of the public and economic actors for cash and non-cash money for transactions, investments, and reserves. Bali Province, as one of the main tourist destinations in Indonesia, has unique and interesting economic dynamics to study, especially in terms of money demand. Over the period 2000-2023, changes in the demand for money in Bali Province were influenced by various macroeconomic factors such as inflation, interest rates, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the demand for money in Bali Province by using the Domowitz-El Badawi Error Corection Model (ECM) on secondary data obtained from the Bali Central Bureau of Statistics. The result revealed 24.4% of the imbalance from the previous period will be adjusted in the current period. This negative and significant coefficient indicates that the ECM model used is valid. In the long run, inflation and GDP have a positive effect on money demand, while interest rates have a negative effect. In the short term, inflation has a positive effect, while the BI rate has a negative effect on money demand. However, GDP shows a negative coefficient, which may indicate the influence of other factors in the short term.

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of cooperative literacy and organizational experience on students' interest in becoming cooperative members, with a case study of UNIMED Faculty of Economics students. The low participation of Generation Z in cooperatives and the fact that 68.9% of FE UNIMED students have never joined a cooperative prompted this study. Quantitative methods were used with data collection through an online questionnaire to 178 respondents (a sample of 3,558 population). Multiple regression analysis tested the effect of independent variables (cooperative literacy and organizational experience) on interest in becoming a cooperative member. The results show that cooperative literacy has a positive effect (sig. 0.003; β = 0.260), and organizational experience also has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.000; β = 0.759). F test (246,631 > 3.05) and Adj. R² (0.829) proved that the two variables together had a significant effect of 82.9%. The findings conclude that in addition to improving literacy, organizational experience is a key factor in driving student interest. Research recommendations include integrating cooperative education into the curriculum and increasing organizational opportunities for students.
