Abstract

Abstract

The consumptive behavior of e-commerce users among students has become a complex issue within the UNIMED economics faculty campus environment. Environmental influences such as peer pressure are believed to be one of the drivers behind individuals purchasing products on e-commerce platforms. Self-control in excessive consumption is a crucial factor in reducing uncontrolled consumptive behavior. This research aims to analyze the influence of self-control and peer conformity on the consumptive behavior of e-commerce users among students in the UNIMED economics faculty environment. This quantitative study utilizes primary data obtained from a population of 3,345, with 100 respondents as its sample. Data collection is conducted using questionnaires containing 15 items for each variable. The results of this study indicate that self-control has a non-significant negative influence on students' consumptive behavior. Meanwhile, peer conformity has a significant positive influence on students' consumptive behavior. These findings demonstrate that students in the UNIMED economics faculty lack self-control and prioritize peer decisions, resulting in increased consumptive behavior. This research is expected to highlight the importance of enhancing self-control and raising students' awareness of peer influence in consumption decisions

Abstract

Fluctuations in the Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar currently tend to weaken in the long run, which is thought to be caused by excessive import activity. The existence of the Money Supply (JUB) and the Interest Rate which is a monetary policy conducted by Bank Indonesia and is thought to have a major influence on the Rupiah / USD exchange rate. This study aims to determine how much the money supply and interest rates affect the Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar through import activities in Indonesia from 2004-2023. This qualitative research uses secondary data (times series) from BPS Indonesia publications, then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis, which has previously been confirmed to be free from classical assumption tests. The results show that JUB has a positive and significant effect on import activity. However, the interest rate, proxied by the BI rate, has little impact on imports. Indirectly, JUB has a significant effect on Rupiah exchange rate through imports, but this is not in line with the effect of interest rate. The results of the analysis suggest that monetary authorities should pay attention to JUB and interest rates in conducting import activities carried out by the government in order to maintain the stability of the Rupiah/US$ exchange rate and create a good level of economic growth.

Abstract

This research examines how inflation, interest rates, and government spending affect Indonesia's economic growth by utilizing the Error Correction Model (ECM) with time series data from 2000 to 2023. The processed data reveal that, in the short run, both inflation and interest rates negatively impact economic growth, showing coefficients of -0.009436 and -0.068359, respectively, though these effects are not significant in a statistical sense. In contrast, government expenditure has a notable positive effect, with a coefficient of 1.415698. Over the long term, managed inflation contributes a slight positive impact (0.015933), while interest rates persist in exerting a significant negative effect (-0.142703). Government expenditure maintains a robust positive effect, illustrated by a coefficient of 1.168041, highlighting the importance of effective budget management. This research offers empirical insights into the interactions of fiscal and monetary policies in fostering sustainable economic growth in Indonesia and provides actionable recommendations for policymakers to create effective strategies.

Abstract

Demand for money is an important indicator in the economy that reflects the needs of the public and economic actors for cash and non-cash money for transactions, investments, and reserves. Bali Province, as one of the main tourist destinations in Indonesia, has unique and interesting economic dynamics to study, especially in terms of money demand. Over the period 2000-2023, changes in the demand for money in Bali Province were influenced by various macroeconomic factors such as inflation, interest rates, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the demand for money in Bali Province by using the Domowitz-El Badawi Error Corection Model (ECM) on secondary data obtained from the Bali Central Bureau of Statistics. The result revealed 24.4% of the imbalance from the previous period will be adjusted in the current period. This negative and significant coefficient indicates that the ECM model used is valid. In the long run, inflation and GDP have a positive effect on money demand, while interest rates have a negative effect. In the short term, inflation has a positive effect, while the BI rate has a negative effect on money demand. However, GDP shows a negative coefficient, which may indicate the influence of other factors in the short term.

Abstract

This research seeks to uncover the advantages and disadvantages between conventional pawnshops and Islamic pawnshops. The focus of the research is on the advantages, challenges, and implications of both types of pawnshops for customers. This research is a descriptive qualitative type with a comparative study technique based on data from previous research. Conventional pawnshops operate based on an interesting system, while Sharia pawnshops use usury-free Sharia principles and prioritize murabahah and ijarah contracts. The results show that conventional pawnshops tend to be more flexible in terms of requirements and processes, but are subject to interest charges that can be burdensome for customers. Islamic pawnshops, on the other hand, offer a fairer solution that complies with Islamic financial principles, although they often face challenges in terms of public understanding and more complex procedures. The implications for customers depend largely on their needs, understanding and values, with choices having to take into account both financial aspects and compliance with sharia principles. This research provides insights for customers in choosing the type of pawnshop that suits their needs and values.
