Abstract

The low awareness among the community to participate in Posbindu is influenced by the lack of promotion for the Posbindu program itself. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of health promotion strategies in increasing community participation in Posbindu PTM in the Silau Laut UPTD Health Center's working area in 2024. Using a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods, this research found that the low awareness among the community to participate in Posbindu was caused by a lack of socialization and long distances. In response, the Health Center has implemented various promotional efforts. The research results show that collaboration between the Health Center, cadres, and community leaders is crucial in increasing participation. However, more measured and sustainable strategies are needed to overcome geographical challenges. This study highlights the important role of local government in supporting the Posbindu program and provides recommendations for developing more effective health promotion programs.

Abstract

Background: Health Human Resources (HRH) include professional health workers, strategic personnel, non-professional staff, and supporting personnel who contribute to healthcare management and delivery to achieve the highest possible standard of public health. The quality of HRH is a key determinant of healthcare service quality, particularly  at  the clinic level. Objectives: To assess the quality of HRH at Santa Maria Palipi Clinic, identify the barriers to improving HRH quality, and describe the efforts made to enhance HRH standards. Research Methods: This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 15 informants: 2 key informants, 6 staff members of Santa Maria Palipi Clinic, and 7 patients or their families. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. Results: The study found that the quality of HRH at Santa Maria Palipi Clinic has not fully met the established standards. Major challenges include difficult-to-change individual characteristics, lack of compliance with existing regulations, limited personnel, and poor collaboration among clinic staff. Efforts to address these issues include regular evaluations and training provided by both the clinic leadership and supporting foundations. Conclusion: Santa Maria Palipi Clinic must continue to improve HRH quality to meet service standards. Strong commitment, continuous training, and better teamwork among health workers are essential strategies for enhancing healthcare service quality.

The results of the study indicate that the program has run according to its objectives, received support from various parties, and its benefits are felt by the elderly, especially in increasing understanding of healthy lifestyles, chronic disease management, and strengthening social functions. However, there are several obstacles such as the limited number of assistants and the inaccuracy of implementation time due to late participants. Routine evaluation and monitoring are carried out by officers and cadres to ensure that the quality of the program is maintained and obstacles can be overcome immediately. Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (SHK) program at UPTD Puskesmas Tebing Syahbandar has not yet achieved the target of screening 100% of newborns, with coverage rates of only 1.36% in 2023 and 15% in 2024. Several challenges hinder the program’s effectiveness, including limited resources and resistance from parents. Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SHK program at UPTD Puskesmas Tebing Syahbandar, identify the factors contributing to the low screening coverage, and propose recommendations for improving the program’s effectiveness and achieving the desired target. Research Method: A qualitative approach is used in this study, employing in-depth interviews with informants including healthcare workers, midwives, and the head of Puskesmas. The data collected was analyzed to identify key themes and factors affecting the program’s implementation. Results: The findings indicate that while the SHK program follows the guidelines set in Permenkes No. 78/2014, it faces significant barriers such as insufficient supply of screening materials (e.g., filter paper), limited training for healthcare personnel, and lack of comprehensive education for parents. These issues result in low participation rates and missed opportunities for early detection of congenital hypothyroidism. Conclusion: Addressing the challenges related to material availability, enhancing healthcare worker training, and improving communication and education for parents are essential to reaching the program’s target of 100% screening coverage.

Abstract

Background: Nurses' caring behavior significantly affects the quality of service and patient satisfaction. However, in Indonesia, the quality of nurses' caring behavior is still relatively low. High workloads and low work motivation can affect the quality of nurses' caring behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between work motivation and workload on nurses' caring behavior at Puskesmas Tigalingga in 2025.Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between work motivation and workload on nurses' caring behavior at Puskesmas Tigalingga in 2025. Research Method: This study uses a quantitative design with a non-experimental descriptive correlation approach. The study was conducted at Puskesmas Tigalingga with a population of 57 nurses and midwives. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Chi-Square tests and multiple logistic regression. Results: The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between work motivation and caring behavior (p-value = 0.003), as well as between workload and caring behavior (p-value = 0.003). Logistic regression analysis showed that workload has the greatest impact on caring behavior, with an Odds Ratio (OR) = 12.49. Conclusion: Managing workload effectively and increasing work motivation are crucial for improving nurses' caring behavior. Both factors play an important role in improving the quality of nursing services and patient satisfaction at Puskesmas Tigalingga.
