Abstract

The research focuses on Yusuf al-Qardhawi’s perspective on the practice of eating with three fingers in modern Islam. Using qualitative methods and a literature review, the study explores how Yusuf al-Qardhawi distinguishes between sunnah associated with Sharia law and those that are not, as well as sunnah that is general and eternal. In refining the concept of hadith ghairu tashri’, the research emphasises that sunnah is not merely confined to Sharia law but also has implications for ethics and morality. The importance of contextualising the hadith about eating with three fingers is key to understanding religious teachings in social, cultural, and current contexts to avoid extreme interpretations and acknowledge that the content of the hadith should not be taken only literally. Furthermore, the study emphasises the embedded educational values within it and underscores the urgency of sunnah as a universal guiding principle. This leads to a comprehensive understanding of the separation of sunnah and its relevance in contemporary Islam, expanding insights into the meaning and practical applications of sunnah in everyday life.

Abstract

This study examines the application of cupping therapy in the context of Thibb al-Nabawi, or the medicine of Prophet Muhammad saw. The author uses qualitative methods and field research to analyze the benefits of cupping therapy and its relevance in the modern era. Cupping, or al-hija>mah, is a traditional method that removes stagnant blood or toxins from the body through the skin. The concept of Thibb al-Nabawi provides a strong foundation for modern cupping therapy, emphasizing cleanliness, caution, and the spiritual dimension in healing. Living hadith supports this practice with the belief that there is a cure for every disease decreed by Allah SWT. Prophet Muhammad saw stated that cupping is the best treatment in Islam. Sunnah cupping practices in Indonesia follow Islamic principles with ethical guidelines and manners reflecting Islamic teachings. The acceptance of cupping therapy by modern society indicates its recognition as a preventive measure to enhance overall health. The transformation of cupping therapy through modern technology maintains the relevance of this traditional practice in contemporary healthcare. This study provides insights into the relevance and positive contributions of cupping therapy in healthcare while preserving Islamic values.

Abstract

This article wants to examine in depth and examine the book Al-Luma’ fī Asbāb al-Wurūd al-Hadīth by a famous scholar named Al-Hafidz Imam Jalaluddin al-Suyuthi.  In this paper, the author uses library research methods by referring to the main work of Imam Jalaluddin al-Suyuthi, namely the book Al-Luma’ fī Asbāb al-Wurūd al-Hadīth which is one of the books in the study of asbabul wurud hadith which is very phenomenal and is often used as a reference for looking for asbabul wurud from a hadith.  The results of this research show that the book Al-Luma’ fī Asbāb al-Wurūd al-Hadīth is a book of asbabul wurud hadith which has its own method and system in collecting and mentioning each hadith and its asbabul wurud.  The book Al-Luma’ fī Asbāb al-Wurūd al-Hadīth also refers to 35 reference sources and contains a lot of additional information regarding asbabul wurud hadith which is not found in other books.  This makes the existence of this book by Imam Jalaluddin al-Suyuthi greatly contribute to hadith scholarship, especially the study of asbabul wurud hadith.

Abstract

Cases of bullying in schools require serious attention due to their physically and psychologically detrimental effects. This community service program aimed to prevent bullying at MI Hidayatul Ulum, Tempel, Krian, Sidoarjo Regency through mentorship and education based on the values of hadith, with the theme “Loving Others is the Prophet’s Sunnah.” The program employed the Community-Based Research (CBR) method, addressing issues identified within the community. Observations and interviews revealed that 51% of students experienced bullying, both physical and verbal. The target participants were students from classes 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, and 6B. The educational materials focused on the values of compassion found in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad saw and were combined with additional topics such as the types of bullying, its social impacts, and strategies for preventing and addressing bullying. This program produced significant outcomes. First, there was an increase in students’ understanding of bullying through the lens of the Prophet’s teachings. Second, students demonstrated behavioral changes, shifting from hostile interactions to more compassionate relationships. Third, an anti-bullying commitment was symbolized through bulletin boards, serving as reminders of the importance of maintaining a harmonious and bullying-free school environment.
