Abstract

ABSTRACT Malaria is an infectious disease caused by plasmodium and belongs to the protozoa group. The Indonesian government has attempted to stop malaria cases with an elimination program. The process of eliminating malaria in each province is achieved in stages, and it is targeted that by 2030 Indonesia will be malaria-free. Ende Regency is one of the districts in NTT Province that has succeeded in eliminating malaria cases by 2022. The research aims to determine the program, budget, and output in maintaining malaria elimination status in Ende Regency in 2023. The type of research is qualitative research with case study research, the number of informants was 15 people using in-depth interviews. The results of the research show that in achieving malaria elimination status in Ende Regency there is namely MADURIA (Malaria Care Society). Regarding the program part, there are differences before and after malaria elimination. After elimination, the focus was more on the migration survey program due to the high mobility of people traveling to areas of high endemicity. The migration survey program is a priority program in Ende Regency in maintaining malaria elimination status. The budget section experienced limitations after the elimination of malaria. Due to budget limitations, many activities do not receive special allocations, so they need to join other P2P programs. For the output section, look at the ABER and API coverage. The highest increase in ABER from 10.5% increased to 29.43%. The API figure is still below 1 per 1000 population. Conclusion: The malaria elimination program has been effective but needs to improve population mapping to anticipate imported cases and improve migration surveillance. After elimination, the budget is increasingly limited, so it needs to be maximized again and training needs to be carried out for health workers periodically.
