Abstract

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method.This study aims to analyze the types and reasons for using code switching in the Basboi song entitled Happy Birthday. The data source for this study was taken from the lyrics of the happy birthday song by Basboi. In analyzing the types of code switching, researchers use the theory of Romaine, namely inter-sentential switching, intra-sentential switching and tagswitching. After doing the analysis, there are 2 types of code switching found in this study, namely inter-sentential switching of 2 data, and intra-sentential switching of 9 data. In this research, there was only one reason for using code switching which was found, namely repetition of 1 data.

Abstract

Abstract

This research on Code-Mixing focuses on language development in the Clara Mongstar and Gold Ranger YouTube videos. The data from this research is the YouTube video of Clara Mongstar and the Gold Ranger in 2020. In addition, the purpose of this research is to find out the use of the language on Youtube. The data collection technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Meanwhile, the results found were in the form of the audience's language style from the video they watched. It was found that there were several types of codemixing used by Clara Mongstar in its implementation.

Abstract

Discourse is generally the way a person thinks and communicates with others. Discourse does not only share certain thoughts and meanings; there are many kinds of topics that can be discussed and analyzed. One of them is conjunction, which is a part of an utterance that is used to connect words, phrases, clauses, and sentences, which are divided into external and internal. Conjunctions have four types, namely addition, comparison, time, and effect. With the data source of four news texts selected by the Jakarta Post with the topic of Gender, this research has the aim of: To find out the internal conjunctions that exist in the Jakarta Post news texts as written discourse. 2). The method used is descriptive-qualitative, which produces twenty-nine pieces of data consisting of conjunctions of addition, time, consequence, and comparison. There are thirteen data points (44.8%) of addition conjunctions. Seven data points (24.2%) are time conjunctions, and four data points (13.8%) are consequence conjunctions. Finally, five data points (17.2%) are comparison conjunctions.
