Abstract

This research aims to determine the motivation and self-concept of a Sindhen before becoming a Sindhen, as well as during and after becoming a Sindhen. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach that seeks an in-depth understanding of the meaning of events and their relationship to people in certain situations. The informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique with the following criteria: Sindhen, who lives in Banyumas Regency and has worked as a Sindhen for at least ten years. This research shows that there is no unique process to become a Sindhi. A person only has to have the intention and hard work to become a Sindhi, and there are no special rituals that a Sindhi must carry out. In conclusion, to be able to sing, someone can learn autodidactically jo, in a musical group, or watch cassettes. Keywords: Sindhen, Shadow puppets, Self Concept, Banyumas

Abstract

Sampah adalah sisa kegiatan sehari-hari manusia dan atau proses alam yang berbentuk padat. Kegiatan penanganan sampah bertujuan untuk mengurangi timbunan sampah yang berasal dari kegiatan sehari-hari manusia. Permasalahan sampah merupakan permasalahan yang dihadapi hampir di seluruh wilayah Indonesia termasuk di wilayah Desa Beji Kecamatan Kedungbanteng Kabupaten Banyumas. Sampah di pedesaan memerlukan penanganan serius baik oleh pemerintah Desa maupun oleh masyarakat sendiri. Salah satu cara pengelolaan sampah adalah dengan menbentuk organisasi pengelola sampah terpadu berbasis masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi Pemerintah Desa Beji Kecamatan Kedungbanteng Kabupaten Banyumas beserta masyarakatnya dalam membentuk organisasi pengelola sampah terpadu. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan dan pendampingan yang disampaikan secara langsung  oleh Tim Pendamping. Hasil program pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa Masyarakat menyambut dengan antusias materi yang disampaikan dan masyarakat beserta pemerintah Desa Beji mampu membentuk organisasi pengelola sampah terpadu.

Abstract

Digital transformation has created significant opportunities in supporting societal activities; however, it also poses serious threats to data security and personal data protection. Indonesia has faced various data breach cases that reveal the weaknesses of the legal system in providing effective protection. Normatively, the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata) does not explicitly regulate personal data, while a new regulatory framework was only introduced through Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). This research aims to analyze personal data protection from a civil law perspective, examine the challenges in implementing the PDP Law, and assess the relevance of classical civil law principles within the digital context. The research employs a normative legal method with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. The findings indicate that personal data protection still encounters obstacles such as low public awareness, limited legal infrastructure, and conflicting interests among the state, corporations, and individuals. Therefore, strengthening civil law instruments to be more adaptive, ensuring consistent implementation of the PDP Law, and renewing civil law doctrines are necessary to remain relevant to the dynamics of digital technology.

Abstract

The Big Data era has shifted the paradigm of Digital Public Relations (PR) from mass distribution patterns to personalized communication. This descriptive qualitative study aims to analyze the mechanism of large-scale data processing into relevant and ethical narratives for Generation Z. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with four Digital PR practitioners and ten representatives of Generation Z in Purwokerto, and strengthened by netnographic observations on TikTok, Instagram, and X platforms. The results of the study indicate that data-based message personalization is very effective in mitigating skepticism among young audiences while optimizing their emotional attachment (engagement). However, this effectiveness requires aspects of transparency, accountability, and adaptability to contemporary data privacy regulations. This study concludes that an adaptive Data-Driven Digital PR model must be able to align analytical algorithm calculations with the communicator's empathetic sensitivity. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of placing data privacy protection as a core value for constructing sustainable audience loyalty.

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah selalu ada dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Banyak aktivitas yang menyumbang bertambahnya sampah dalam masyarakat dan begitu juga yang terjadi di Desa Margasari Kecamatan Sidareja Kabupaten Cilacap. Proses pengelolaan sampah yang dilakukan belum masuk dalam kategori yang baik dan benar dikarenakan proses pengelolaan belum memenuhi standar kesehatan. Tujuan dari penyuluhan ini adalah terbentuknya sebuah kesadaran akan pentingnya organisasi pengelolaan sampah terpadu agar dapat mengkoordinir jalannya pengelolaan sampah yang dapat menguntungkan masyarakat. Pengabdian dilakukan melalui penyuluhan langsung kepada semua unsur masyarakat di Desa tersebut. Kegiatan tersebut diterima dengan antusias dan masyarakat mulai berdiskusi untuk membentuk organisasi pengelola sampah terpadu. Organisasi ini diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi permasalahan sampah yang belum tertangani dengan baik. Masyarakat diharapkan terus bersinergi dengan Pemerintah Desa dan semua unsur pemerintahan desa dalam menghadapi permasalahan sampah tersebut.

Abstract

Universitas Wijayakusuma Purwokerto (UNWIKU) has experienced a decline in the number of new student admissions over the past five years, amidst increasing competition from public and private universities. This study examines the public relations communication strategies employed by UNWIKU in building and maintaining a positive institutional image. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach and a single case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with public relations leaders, management staff, students, alumni, and community members, as well as documentation of public relations activities. Data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal four strategic pillars: targeted communication segmentation, utilization of print, electronic, and digital media, implementation of community service and CSR programs, and alumni empowerment as image ambassadors. While these strategies have effectively enhanced awareness and engagement, challenges such as limited human resources and digital infrastructure remain to be addressed. Recommendations include strengthening public relations capacity, establishing a regular evaluation system, and optimizing digital platforms.
