Abstract

Cholesterol is a yellowish fat molecule that resembles wax which is produced by the liver and circulated throughout the body through the blood vessels. Hypercholesterolemia can occur when LDL (Low Density Lipid) levels are higher than HDL (High Density Lipid) levels. This health education activity aims to increase public knowledge and understanding, especially in the South Banjarbaru Community Health Center, regarding hypercholesterolemia including signs and symptoms, how to use drugs, and prevention. The activity includes several stages, namely the presentation of material using the lecture method and leaflet media, question and answer session, pretest and post test. The percentage result of the pretest average score is 51.4286% and the post test average is 97.1429%. This research concludes that there is an increase in community knowledge of the elderly posyandu after being provided with education and exposure to material related to cholesterol.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan 1) perubahan karakter peserta didik pada pembelajaran Matematika materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar dengan menggunakan model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) berbantu media Penyabar, 2) peningkatan pengetahuan materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar dengan menggunakan model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) berbantu media Penyabar, dan 3) peningkatan keterampilan materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar dengan menggunakan model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) berbantu media Penyabar bagi peserta didik kelas VIIIA SMP Negeri 10 Tegal Semester 2 Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) adanya peningkatan nilai karakter peserta didik, ini dapat nilai karakter secara umum meningkat sebesar 0,68 dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 yaitu dari siklus 1 sebesar 1,72 dengan nilai Cukup (C) meningkat di siklus 2 menjadi 2,40 dengan nilai Baik (B), 2) Adanya peningkatan hasil tes pengetahuan materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar pada peserta didik, ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan kondisi awal sebesar 58,67 meningkat pada siklus 1 menjadi 76,83 dan meningkat lagi pada siklus 2 menjadi 83,50, 3) Adanya peningkatan hasil tes keterampilan materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar pada peserta didik, ini dapat ditunjukkan dengan nilai rata-rata keterampilan siklus 1 sebesar 64,33 dan meningkat pada siklus 2 menjadi 87,00.

Abstract

Scabies, caused by the infestation of the mite Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis, remains a significant health problem in Indonesia, especially in areas with inadequate sanitation. This community service aims to increase public awareness of scabies through a health promotion program implemented at the Banjarbaru Selatan Health Center. The health promotion method includes administering a pre-test, delivering material orally, interactive discussions, distributing educational leaflets, and evaluating through a post-test. This activity was attended by 15 participants from the general public at Posyandu Seruni on June 13, 2024. The measurement was conducted using a questionnaire, with pre-test results showing an average knowledge score of 77.3%, which increased to 91.33% after the activity. This improvement reflects the effectiveness of the delivery method and media used. Based on data analysis, several statements showed a significant increase in understanding, particularly about the use of scabies medication and the symptoms of the disease. The high enthusiasm of participants during the discussion session also contributed to the effectiveness of the activity. These results indicate that health promotion programs can contribute to increasing public awareness of scabies and motivate them to take preventive measures. It is recommended that future scabies education focus on the procedures for managing scabies, including treatment, skin care, and prevention of transmission, so that participants can effectively address and prevent the disease. With these measures, it is hoped that the prevalence of scabies in the community will decrease, thereby improving overall health quality.
