Abstract

Salah satu bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan oleh KKN STAIN Mandailing Natal di Dusun Batu Loting, Kecamatan Padang Bolak Julu, Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara. Perkuliahan kerja nyata berlangsung dari tanggal 4 Juli 2023 hingga 22 Agustus 2023. Mahasiswa mengikuti Kuliah Kerja Nyata sebagai salah satu bentuk pengabdian masyarakat (KKN). Salah satu hal yang wajib dilakukan mahasiswa KKN adalah melakukan kegiatan pendidikan sebagai bagian dari upaya untuk turut terlibat meningkatkan kecerdasan negara. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan melalui proses analisis terlebih dahulu sebelum menungkan program kerja. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa anak usia dini di dusun Batu Loting menjadi aktif dalam belajar dan mempunyai motivasi. Pengabdian ini juga menunjukkan akan perubahan cara pandang masyarakat terkait pembinaan karakter terhadap anak. Para orang tua memahami bahwa karakter dan pendidikan merupakan hal yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang anak menuju masa depannya yang cerah.

Abstract

The trade war between the United States and China has created significant global economic uncertainty, affecting exchange rate stability in developing countries, including that of the Indonesian Rupiah. This study aims to analyze the impact of the US-China trade war on the stability of the Rupiah exchange rate and to explore the application of the Sharia hedging approach as a solution to manage exchange rate fluctuation risks. Using a qualitative method based on a literature review, this study found that in early 2025, the Rupiah exchange rate depreciated by 8% against the US Dollar due to global trade tensions and a domestic current account deficit. The widely used conventional hedging strategies have proven effective but are not in line with Islamic economic principles. On the other hand, Sharia-compliant hedging, such as wa’ad, salam, and murabahah mu’ajjal, offers a more ethical, inclusive, and Sharia-compliant solution. These instruments can mitigate exchange rate risk without involving elements of speculation, gharar, or riba. The implementation of Sharia hedging requires close collaboration between Islamic banks, business actors, and regulators to ensure its effective and appropriate application. This research concludes that the Shariah hedging approach can strengthen the stability of the Rupiah exchange rate while also supporting the principles of Shariah economics.

Abstract

The accuracy of measuring instruments is very important in every use of tools, both in trade transactions and other fields that require measuring instruments. In the field of trade, the use of accurate measuring scale in a transaction is considered very important in determining the final amount that must be paid by consumers. At the Tigabinanga fruit market, differences in measurement values were found with an accuracy of up to 600 grams. Therefore, to maintain the accuracy of the scale measurements, regular re-calibration must be carried out. The introduction of the re-calibration process was carried out by Lecturers and assisted by students of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, University Sumatera Utara (USU) in two places, namely the Tigabinanga Fruit Market and socialization to students of SMAN 1 Tigabinanga. This activity is a community service activity from the USU Vocational Faculty that was well received by traders and students. The lack of awareness of traders to re-calibrate and the small number of scales found that have a valid calibration stamp show that the importance and provide a real effect of this socialization. In addition, the introduction of calibration was also carried out students of SMAN 1 Tigabinanga, the students were also considered as right target, where students showed enthusiasm and deep curiosity about the calibration and recalibration processes which are important in the use of simple measuring instruments, even on market scales.

Abstract

Prayer times constitute a fundamental component of Islamic worship, serving as a prerequisite for the validity of prayer performance. The determination of prayer times is rooted in the Qur’an and Hadith, which provide both normative principles and practical guidance. In the context of modern society, characterized by scientific advancement and technological development, a deeper conceptual understanding of prayer times is required to ensure their continued relevance. This study aims to examine and reconstruct the concept of prayer times from the perspectives of the Qur’an and Hadith, while exploring its relevance within contemporary religious practices. Employing a qualitative approach, this research adopts a library research method. The data were collected through an in-depth examination of Qur’anic verses and Prophetic traditions related to prayer times, supported by secondary sources such as Qur’anic exegesis, hadith commentaries, and relevant academic publications. Data analysis was conducted using thematic and descriptive-analytical approaches. The findings reveal that the concept of prayer times in Islamic primary sources is governed by clear normative boundaries, while simultaneously allowing contextual flexibility. This reconstruction underscores the necessity of integrating textual fidelity with contextual understanding in order to maintain the continuity and applicability of Islamic teachings in a changing era
