Abstract

The development of Technology and Information is running so rapidly. The technology is not only intended to facilitate human work but also intended to facilitate humans in teaching and learning.  One technology that is widely used to help facilitate human work, especially in the field of statistics, is the SPSS (statistical program for social science) application.  The use of this application in learning statistics courses is absolutely necessary to help make it easier for students to process data at the time of completing the final project. This study is an experimental study with a population of all students who contract statistics courses. Based on the results of the data analysis conducted, the numbers 2,98 > 1,97 were obtained (the t-count value is greater than the t-table value).  Based on the results of the analysis, the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.  Because the t-count value is greater than the t-table, the results of this study can be concluded that there is an influence on utilizing the SPSS application on improving students' skills in processing statistical data.

Abstract

The Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model is a learning approach that uses real world problems as a context for students to learn how to think critically, problem solving skills, and to gain essential knowledge and concepts from the subject matter. This model is based on constructivist understanding and was developed to help students develop various skills. Mathematical problem solving ability is a component of ability that students must have in learning mathematics. One effort to address the problem of mathematical problem solving ability is through selecting a learning model. The Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model is a learning model that is based on many problems that require real investigation of real problems. This research aims to investigate differences in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who take part in learning using the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model in junior high school students. This research is a Quasy Experimental research. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test for hypotheses 2 and 4, the t-test for hypothesis 1 and the Mann Whitney U test for hypothesis 3. The hypothesis results show that for the first hypothesis the tcount is more than ttable, for the second hypothesis the tcount is more than ttable, and for the third hypothesis, tcount is less than ttable, and for the fourth hypothesis, tcount is more than ttable. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that overall there is a difference in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who take part in learning using the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model and students who take part in conventional learning among junior high school students. The results of this research can be used to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Geogebra is one of the applicative software that can be used as a learning medium for mathematics in the 4.0 era. This application can help teachers in creating learning media especially in the geometry material as well as geogebra can facilitate mathematical teacher in making graphical illustrations and geometric designs so that it is expected to arouse the spirit of students in learning math. The method used in this research is a literature review. The purpose of this research is (1) to explain the definition of geogebra; (2) to demonstrate the use of Geogebra as a learning medium in improving the ability of teachers in teaching mathematics in the era 4.0. The result of this study is that geogebra is a dynamic and interactive program that allows for a lot of exploration of a mathematical concept especially on the material of geometry transformation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penerapan Media Geogebra Dalam Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Sma Negeri 8 Medan Kelas Xi Pada Materi Persamaan Lingkaran. Jenis penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan quasi eksprimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-test post-test control group desain. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI. Teknik sampling yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah Cluster Random Sampling. diketahui bahwa nilai sig. (2-tailend) adalah sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan antara komunikasi matematis siswa hasil pretest dengan post-test yang artinya ada pengaruh penggunaan media GeoGebra dengan Model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Medan pada materi persamaan lingkaran. maka disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media GeoGebra dalam model Problem Based Learning berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA Negeri 8 Medan pada materi persamaan lingkaran dikelas XI.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui keefektivan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan numerasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Muara T. A 2023/2024. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif, jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Quasi Experiment. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Muara yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Dari populasi tersebut, yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-A dan kelas VIII-B yang dianggap memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama. Dengan menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling maka diperoleh sampel penelitian sebagai kelas eksperimen (VIII-A) sebanyak 26 orang siswa dan sebagai kelas kontrol (VIII-B) sebanyak 24 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Setelah dilakukan penelitian diperoleh hasil t hitung 0,000 pada kemampuan numerasi matematis menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 pada taraf signifikansi 5% yang berarti ada perbedaan model pembelajaran PBL dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Untuk mengetahui keefektivan model PBL dilihat dari indikator efektivitas yaitu kualitas pembelajaran, kesesuaian tingkat pembelajaran dan waktu. Kualitas pembelajaran dilihat dari daya serap perseorangan, daya serap klasikal dan uji t. Berdasarkan daya serap perseorangan yang menggunakan model PBL terdapat 24 orang siswa yang tuntas dengan nilai diatas 70 dan 2 orang siswa yang tidak tuntas dengan nilai dibawah 70. Berdasarkan daya serap klasikal, untuk persentase ketuntasan klasikal adalah 92,30% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil lembar observasi kesesuaian tingkat pembelajaran diperoleh skor 4,2 yang berarti keseusaian tingkat pembelajaran sudah baik, pencapaian waktu ideal 4,5 yang berarti baik. Maka dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif terhadap kemampuan numerasi matematis siswa pada materi SPLDV kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Muara T. A 2023/2024.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa mengaitkan materi dengan kehidupan nyata. Model pembelajaran tersebut adalah Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) atau pembelajaran kontekstual Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa melalui Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada pembelajaran perbandingan di SMP Free Methodist 1 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-B SMP Free Methodist 1 Medan yang berjumlah 44 siswa. Objek penelitiannya adalah peningkatan motivasi belajar pada mata pelajaran perbandingan dengan menggunakan model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Tingkat motivasi siswa di peroleh dari angket yang di bagikan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa penerapan model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Peningkatan motivasi belajar dari evaluasi Siklus I dan Siklus II dengan presentase Siklus I 62%, dan pada siklus II 71%, Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat di simpulkan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa melalui Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada materi pembelajaran perbandingan di SMP Free Methodist 1 Medan di katakan berhasil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in mathematical reasoning abilities between students who use the Problem Based Learning learning model and the Discovery Learning on Social Arithmetic material at Imelda Private Junior High School Medan. The type of research conducted in this study is a quasi-experimental using pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of Imelda Private Junior High School Medan which consisted of 3 classes. From this population, the samples of this study were class VII-C and VII-A. Due to the Covid situation, only 15 students were sampled in this study. Based on the results of research and processing, it is concluded that there are differences in the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who use the Problem Based Learning learning model with the Discovery Learning on Social Arithmetic material at Imelda Private Junior High School Medan. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) method on conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking skills in the teaching of systems of linear equations with three variables for 10th-grade students at Parulian 1 Private Vocational High School, Medan, Academic Year 2025/2026. The study population consists of all 10th-grade students, and the sample comprises 60 10th-grade students. The sampling technique used was Purposive Random Sampling. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires, and observations. The research results, as seen from the indicators of learning effectiveness, were met: the learning structure was in the “good” category, teacher communication was in the “good” category, student response was in the “good” category, student activity was in the “good” category, and learning achievement was in the “achieved” category. The research results indicate that the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) learning method is effective in enhancing conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the GeoGebra learning medium on students’ conceptual understanding and mathematical problem-solving skills regarding the topic of systems of linear equations with three variables in the 10th grade at Budi Setia Private Vocational High School. This study employed a quantitative method using a quasi-experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest-only control group design. The study population consisted of all Grade 10 students at Budi Setia Private Vocational High School, comprising 5 classes. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in Class X TKR as the experimental class (30 students) and Class X MP as the control class (30 students). The research instrument consisted of an essay test that had been validated for validity and reliability. Pre-test and post-test data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, N-Gain, and Effect Size. Calculations for the experimental class showed an average score of 77.80 for mathematical concept comprehension, while the control class had an average score of 68.07. Calculations for the experimental class showed an average score of 73.63 for mathematical problem-solving ability, while the control class had an average score of 66.73. Based on the t-test results, a significance value of 0.001 0.05 was obtained, so the null hypothesis was rejected. The GeoGebra learning tool was found to be effective because it was proven to significantly improve student learning outcomes, as evidenced by a comparison of average post-test scores between classes that used the tool and those that did not. In terms of mathematical concept comprehension, students in the experimental class taught using GeoGebra achieved an average score of 77.80, far surpassing the control class, which averaged only 68.07. This advantage was also consistently evident in the mathematical problem-solving ability indicator, where the experimental class recorded an average score of 73.63, while the control class lagged behind at 66.73. The conclusion of this study is that the GeoGebra learning medium is effective in enhancing students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities regarding the topic of systems of linear equations with three variables in Grade 10 at Budi Setia Private Vocational High School.
