Abstract

This research aims to provide a new innovation in mathematics learning, because based on the results interviews, researchers found that mathematics learning is less innovative, learning strategies are still monotonous and learning methods are less interesting so that students' cognitive growth is not optimal. The Sudoku game is a logic-based puzzle game that can improve junior high school students' cognitive abilities in a mathematics learning environment. Sudoku trains the student's mind to absorb several strategies and pieces of information in a short time. Apart from that, this game can also help improve students' memory and concentration. Sudoku can be used as a game choice that can increase students' concentration in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to test the direct influence of teacher performance in building student conceptual understanding of mathematical reasoning, as well as the direct impact of teacher's performance in constructing student's understanding of conceptual, mathematic reasoning and mathematics literacy on students' learning results. This study took the subjects of the students of the eighth grade in the 3rd grade state high school in Karo district of a total of 255 students. This research is a study of quantitative methods using ex-post facto approaches of a corrosional nature. Data is collected using tests, then processed and analyzed with path analysis techniques. The results of this study show that: (a) there is a direct influence of the teacher's performance in building conceptual understanding of the student's mathematical reasoning; (b) there has been a direct impact of the teachers' performance in constructing the students' understanding of conceptual reasoning and mathematics literacy on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Geogebra is one of the applicative software that can be used as a learning medium for mathematics in the 4.0 era. This application can help teachers in creating learning media especially in the geometry material as well as geogebra can facilitate mathematical teacher in making graphical illustrations and geometric designs so that it is expected to arouse the spirit of students in learning math. The method used in this research is a literature review. The purpose of this research is (1) to explain the definition of geogebra; (2) to demonstrate the use of Geogebra as a learning medium in improving the ability of teachers in teaching mathematics in the era 4.0. The result of this study is that geogebra is a dynamic and interactive program that allows for a lot of exploration of a mathematical concept especially on the material of geometry transformation.

Abstract

Mathematics learning that uses the circle concept using contextual concepts can make it easier for students to understand mathematical concepts and also broaden students' insight. This research aims to explore the shapes and patterns of Karo musical instruments, namely the gung and Penganak, which will then be used as material for developing learning resources based on the cultural diversity that exists in Tanah Karo. The method used in this research is exploratory with an ethnographic approach. The instrument used in this research is a human instrument, and the data collection techniques used by researchers are observation and documentation. From this research it was found that gung and penganak are flat, circular shapes which can be related to mathematics learning.

Abstract

The goals of this study are to (1) explain the trend of mathematics education research in Indonesia; (2) explain the trend of mathematics education research in Finland; and (3) compare research trends in mathematics education in Indonesia and Finland. The approach employed is a literature review, with the literature sources reviewed being journal articles, proceeding papers, books, and other publications linked to the trend of mathematics education research in Indonesia and Finland from 2019 to 2023 using the PoP (Publish or Perish) 8th edition. According to the findings of this study, the trend of educational research in Indonesia and Finland is dominated by educational research utilizing technology in mathematics learning.
