Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the role of parents on the learning motivation of fifth grade students at SDN 060960 Belawan. This type of research is a qualitative approach with data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman. The activities in this data analysis are data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verification. The subjects and objects of this data are parents and students of class V SDN 060960 Belawan totaling 26 people consisting of mothers, fathers and students who will be studied using observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research that has been done through interviews, observations and documentation that the role of parents on student learning motivation is giving attention, giving rewards and appreciation in the form of praise and providing learning facilities. It was found that the role of parents on students' learning motivation was not sufficient to carry out its role on student learning motivation, such as: Not paying attention to children, Not providing books and learning facilities for children. It can be concluded that the role of parents on the learning motivation of fifth grade students at SDN 060960 Belawan is not all done well, because there are some parents who are still unable to carry out their role in motivating children's learning, this is evidenced by the results of interviews between researchers and parents of students.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match pada materi sifat-sifat benda untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas III di SD Swasta Bakti Luhur Medan. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini merupakan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi dengan prosesPengabdian kepada Masyarakat (1) pembelajaran dengan penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match, (2) merencanakan bentuk tindakan pada siklus II berdasarkan hasil refleksi siklus I. Sedangkan indikator Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajarsiswa subyek Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat adalah peserta didik kelas III SD Swasta Bakti Luhur Medan semester genap, yang berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa siklus pertama hanya 17 siswa (57%) peserta didik yang mencapai nilai KBM (70). Sedangkan 13 siswa (43%) berada di bawah nilai KBM. Siklus kedua menunjukkan bahwa 4 orang siswa (13%) yang nilainya tidak mencapai KBM. Sementara 26 siswa (87%) yang nilainya melampaui nilai KBM. Gambaran penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match pada materi sifat-sifat benda untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas III di SD Swasta Bakti Luhur Medan. Berdasarkan hasil tes siklus kedua, yaitu pada kategori tuntas mencapai 87 persen. Dan hanya sedikit siswa yang memiliki hasil belajar pada materi sifat-sifat benda yaitu 13 persen, pada siklus pertama peserta didik yang tuntas hanya 57 persen dan tidak tuntas sebanyak 43 persen. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match telah berlangsung dengan baik dan dapat menunjang peningkatan hasil belajar pada materi sifat-sifat benda. Oleh karena itu, disarankan kepada guru dalam mengajarkan materi pelajaran hendaknya mengedepankan penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match.
