Abstract

Divorce is an event that can have a significant psychological impact on individuals, especially in cases of divorce by lawsuit. Widows and widowers after a divorce by lawsuit often face various psychological challenges, such as stress, loneliness, emotional instability, and adaptation to changes in social and economic roles. This study aims to analyze the psychological well-being of widows and widowers after a divorce by lawsuit by examining aspects of emotional balance, social support, and coping strategies applied in dealing with life after divorce. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques involving several participants who have experienced divorce by lawsuit. The findings indicate that the psychological well-being of widows and widowers after a divorce by lawsuit is significantly influenced by social support, economic conditions, and adaptive mechanisms in coping with life changes. Individuals with strong social support tend to have better psychological well-being than those experiencing social isolation. Furthermore, coping strategies such as engagement in social activities, spiritual enhancement, and healthy emotional management have been proven to help improve psychological well-being. This study concludes that the psychological well-being of widows and widowers after a divorce by lawsuit can be improved through adequate social support and adaptive coping strategies. Therefore, interventions involving support from family, the community, and psychological services are necessary to help them lead a more prosperous life after divorce.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of family financial management on marital harmony among married couples. A household is not only built on the foundation of love and affection but also relies on the couple’s ability to manage economic resources wisely. Financial issues often become the main trigger of conflict in a marriage, whether due to a lack of planning, imbalance between income and expenditure, or a lack of transparency in financial decision-making. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method involving five married couples residing in Pekanbaru City, with a minimum marriage duration of five years. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validation conducted through source triangulation. The results of the study show that couples who engage in joint financial planning, share responsibilities fairly, and build open communication regarding financial matters tend to have more harmonious, stable, and low-conflict households. Conversely, couples without a clear financial system are more vulnerable to tension, especially when facing economic pressure. Thus, family financial management plays a crucial role in creating a healthy and sustainable marital relationship.

The early years of marriage are a critical period in establishing the foundation of a long-term relationship. One important factor in maintaining stability in romantic relationships is forgiveness between partners. This study aims to explore the role of forgiveness in reducing conflict, strengthening emotional bonds, and promoting harmony in early marital life. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews of newlywed couples, findings indicate that forgiveness serves as an adaptive coping strategy to prevent prolonged conflict, reduce negative emotions, and increase marital satisfaction. Implications suggest that forgiveness is not merely the absence of resentment but a conscious effort to restore trust and intimacy within the relationship.
