Abstract

This research aims to analyze the form of social interaction between characters in the novel Lebih Senyap Dari Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma, and utilize the results of the analysis as an alternative teaching material for SMA class XII students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research whose analysis results will be described narratively. The data source in this analysis is the novel Lebih Senyap Dari Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma. The findings of the analysis show that this novel contains social interactions that are associative and dissociative. Associative social interaction consists of cooperation when the characters realize that they have the same interests, accommodation when the characters are willing to adjust to the new environment, and assimilation when the characters try to reduce differences. Meanwhile, dissociative social interactions consist of contravention when the characters cause disagreement with each other, and conflict when the characters oppose each other by hitting each other. The results of the analysis are then adjusted to the demands of the 2013 curriculum based on Core Competencies and Basic Competencies and made a product in the form of teaching materials to support the learning of SMA class XII students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's desire to introduce novel literature to students and explore everything in it in the form of content, language, elements, rules, and genres in the novel. This study aims to analyze the character traits of the main character in the novel The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and to analyze the psychological values ​​of the main character by using Sigmund Freud's personality theory, namely id, ego, and super ego. This research is also an alternative teaching material regarding the content and language of novels for class XII students of SMA and SMK. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data source used in this research is the literary novel entitled The Silent Patient written by Alex Michaelides. The research data obtained is in the form of the results of the analysis of the character of the main character who has two character traits, namely the protagonist and antagonist. As well as the main characters who have psychological values ​​in accordance with Sigmund Freud's personality theory, namely the id, ego, and super ego. The results of the analysis from this study were then adjusted to the demands of the curriculum, namely referring to Core Competence and Basic Competence 3.9 regarding the content and language of the novel. Then made a teaching material to support the learning process of class XII students. The content and language teaching materials of the novel are based on the research process that has been carried out, and can be used in Indonesian language subjects.

Abstract

This study is based on the selection of models and media that are less creative and innovative in learning to write fantasy story texts so that students feel bored and have difficulty in writing activities. This study aims to test the effectiveness of learning to write fantasy story texts with the porpe model assisted by plotagon animation media on students of class VII SMPN 35 Bandung. This study uses a quantitative method of the quasi-experimental type and a true experimental pretest-posttest control group design, and the research subjects consist of 2 classes.  The results of the study showed 1) the author was able to plan and implement learning to write fantasy story texts, as evidenced by the scores obtained of 3.63 and 3.55 with a very good category, 2) the ability of students after receiving treatment had reached the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) with a total average obtained of 89.02. 3) the difference in student abilities before and after receiving treatment using the plotagon animation media-assisted porpe model experienced a significant increase as evidenced by the wilcoxon test results showing an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05. 4) the plotagon animation media-assisted porpe model is effective for use in learning to write fantasy story texts as evidenced by the results of the maan whitney test showing an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value, namely 0.00, <0.05. which means that the plotagon animation media-assisted porpe model is more effective to use compared to the control class.
