Abstract

Liquid waste in the case of tofu industrial waste has a variety of very high organic matter content, if it is not processed properly it will pollute the environment. Based on the results of research on the waste from the tempe-tofu factory, it is known that the pH is 4.3; TSS 140 mg/L; COD 4506.6 mg/L; and BOD 1285.59 mg/L. To meet quality standards, it must be processed first with the right technology before being disposed of so as not to pollute the environment. The problems faced by Partners 1 and Partners 2 are that the factory does not provide funds specifically for processing, has limited land and does not understand the proper processing of liquid waste, is not aware of the impact on the environment, and lacks reuse of waste for other benefits. The purpose of this Community Service Community Partnership Program is to educate and apply appropriate technology for home industrial wastewater treatment (case study of Mitra 1 (tempe) and Mitra 2 (tofu) factories in Banjarbaru City) in an effort to reduce pollutant content. The service methods carried out include data collection, dissemination of research results; tool application, technical guidance, monitoring and evaluation. The results of the community service activities that have been carried out are carrying out outreach activities and coordination with Partners 1 (tempe factory) and Partner 2 (tofu factory), sharing and exposing research results involving relevant agencies, making drum reactors and technical guidance on equipment installation, monitoring and evaluation of community service activities. Through Community Service Activities, the Community Partnership Program is expected to provide benefits for increasing the understanding and skills of the tofu-tempe home industry as partners regarding the application of appropriate technology for liquid waste management. In addition, it is also hoped that a better network of cooperation will be established.   Keywords: modification, drum reactor, liquid waste, tofu-tempe, minimize pollutant

Abstract

Telok Selong Ulu Village and Telok Selong Village are included in the West Martapura District, Banjar Regency, around 50% of residents live on the banks of the Martapura River, they rely on river water for bathing, washing and toileting (MCK). Every year these two villages are often affected by quite severe flooding, the river water looks very murky and brown. River water can no longer be consumed as before and the community's life is still classified as lower middle class, as informed by the village head. They hope that there will be support from the government or other parties who can help overcome clean water problems, especially during floods which actually cause a clean water crisis. The aim of this community service activity is that community groups are able to process clean water that meets health requirements. The solution offered is to train cadres of working groups that have been formed and apply the results of research on processing river water into clean water. The target indicator for the achievement of community service activities is the formation of a water processing working group in village communities that is skilled and efficient (able to process clean water and prepare the equipment). Apart from that, it is hoped that it will act as a trigger for the academic community to continue to take action in order to improve the level of public health, especially on river banks. Water processing group cadres are expected to always practice their abilities in water processing using DSRF-USRF reactors for daily water supply that meets health requirements. Apart from that, it is hoped that it can share information with local residents who are experiencing difficulties in providing clean water.

Abstract

The Effectiveness of the Use of Kuriflock in Reducing TSS, Iron and Manganese Levels in Mining Water in Settling Pond PT. Adaro Indonesia. PT. Adaro Indonesia is the largest coal miner of the Adaro Group, which produces coal products. Coal mining carried out by the open-pit mining method causes negative impacts on the environment, one of which is the emergence of waste in the form of mining water. The general purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of Kuriflock in reducing TSS, iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) in the Settling Ponds Disposal Area of PT. Adaro Indonesia before being released into the Public Waters Agency. The type of research used is experimental research. The research design used was Pretest-Postest with Control Group Design. The sample in this study was taken using the Grab Sampling method taken on the catchmen from the runoff of PT. Buma. In this study, 4 concentrations of 0 mg/l, 0.2 mg/l, 0.4 mg/l and 0.6 mg/l were used with 5 repetitions. The results of this study show that curiflock cannot reduce the levels of TSS, Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn). The levels of TSS and Iron (Fe) before and after being certified have not met the standard value of ligkungan quality. Meanwhile, the level of Manganese (Mn) has met the quality standard value. It is necessary to use other coagulants to reduce the levels of TSS, Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn) in mine water (Disposal Area) in accordance with environmental quality standards.
