Abstract

The purpose of this community service to improve the awareness about the waste to the junior and senior high school students. The target of this program is to change the policy of waste management in the school. This activities was begin by locating KKM (Community Service Program) students from the university to the schools around the KKM locations. These KKM students was placed as a field assistants in the school waste management. The next step, we developed several workshop about waste management in the school. The targets of this program are teachers, students and gardeners in the school. The implementation of this new waste management will be monitored and evaluated by lecturers and the KKM students. This program has been implemented in three schools, SMPN 1 Mancak, Serang, SMA Al Irsyad Waringinkurung, and SMA 1 Baros. Keywords: waste, management, school, KKM

Abstract

Water is one of the most essential natural resources for living organisms. Tonjong Village is a residential, agricultural, and fish farming area. According to the test results from the Environmental Laboratory Unit of the Environmental Agency, the groundwater quality in Tonjong Village shows the following physical and chemical parameters: TDS 3352 mg/L, TSS 11 mg/L, pH 6.85, Hardness (CaCO?) 1100 mg/L, COD 9.34 mg/L, and BOD 2.40 mg/L. This study aims to reduce TDS and water hardness using a multi-stage treatment method. The research consists of three stages: the preliminary stage, the equipment fabrication stage, and the testing stage. The results indicate a decrease in TDS from 3352 mg/L to 1380 mg/L and a reduction in hardness using material variation 2 from 1100 mg/L to 752.5 mg/L.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is investigating the effect of rice husk ash in reducing of BOD, COD and TSS in leachate water. In this research, the protype of water purifier was created and the rice husk was conducted in this instrument. Before using as an adsorbent, the rice husk ash was heated at furnace at 500 °C. The process of water purifying using rice husk as an adsorbent was performed from 0 min to 120 min. The BOD-COD levels and the TSS content in leachate water was investigated before and after purifying using rice husk ash. The BOD level at this time was decreased from 412.5 to 126.25mg/L during contact time optimum 45 min.. The optimum time in reducing COD was also reduced from 861.0 to 261.25 mg/L during 45 min respectively. After 45 min , the content of BOD and COD was increased. The TSS content of leachate water after treatment using rice husk ash was changed from 99.0 to 5.0 mg/L after 30 min contact with rice husk. We conclude that the rice husk was effective in decreasing BOD, COD and TSS in leachate water. Keywords: Rice husk ash, BOD, COD.

Abstract

The Fisheries Office of Lebak Regency is responsible for the management of capture fisheries, aquaculture, resource monitoring, and the marketing of fishery products. However, geographical challenges, the difficulty of obtaining real-time data, and the use of conventional monitoring and reporting methods hinder effective and sustainable fisheries governance. In addition, limited market reach—primarily targeting only local areas—further restricts the region’s economic potential. This study aims to address issues related to monitoring, reporting, and marketing through the development of an Integrated Fisheries Information System (SIPATIN), a smart mobile-based fisheries governance application integrated with a web-based monitoring platform. SIPATIN features include fishery area mapping, real-time reporting, an E-Commerce marketing platform, and a recommendation system that provides detailed information on products, seller locations, prices, reviews, estimated delivery times, and proximity-based suggestions for users. The system was developed using a prototyping method, consisting of needs analysis, design, development, testing, and evaluation based on user feedback. The application was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS), which scored 74.26 (Good), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), involving 246 respondents and resulting in a score of 79.13 (Acceptable). The results of this study show that SIPATIN effectively supports integrated fisheries governance, enhances service efficiency at the Lebak Regency Fisheries Office, and empowers fishery business actors including fishers, fish farmers, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in processed fish products. Furthermore, this research also produces a data-based fishery system for sustainable economic development
