Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis makna pada penamaan menu makanan unik di warung dan kafe Kota Lhokseumawe. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa nama-nama makanan unik yang ada di kafe dan warung Kota Lhokseumawe. Pengumpulan data dilakukan mulai 05 Mei sampai 15 Juni 2023 dengan sumber data berupa nama menu-menu makanan pada 20 kafe dan warung di Kota Lhokseumawe, yang berjumlah 40 data. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, dokumentasi, dan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian diperoleh jenis-jenis makna yang terbagi menjadi empat bagian yaitu, (1) makna konotatif sebanyak 8 data, (2) makna denotatif sebanyak 19 data, (3) makna asosiasi sebanyak 10 data, dan (4) makna gramatikal ditemukan 2 data. Kata kunci: makna, penamaan, menu makanan, semantik ABSTRACT This research aims to describe the types of meaning in the naming of unique food menus in stalls and cafes in Lhokseumawe City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using a qualitative approach. The data in this research are the names of unique foods found in cafes and stalls in Lhokseumawe City. Data collection was carried out from May 5 to June 15 2023 with data sources in the form of names of food menus at 20 cafes and stalls in Lhokseumawe City, totaling 40 data. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, documentation and note-taking techniques. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research obtained types of meaning which were divided into four parts, namely, (1) connotative meaning with 8 data, (2) denotative meaning with 19 data, (3) association meaning with 10 data, and (4) grammatical meaning found 2 data. Keywords: meaning, naming, food menus, semantics

Abstract

Naming food menus is an important aspect of marketing strategies for cafes and food stalls. Unique naming can attract consumer attention. This research explores the basics of the unique naming of food menus used by cafes and stalls in Lhokseumawe City. This research uses qualitative methods to analyze data collected through direct observation and interviews with business owners, reinforced with documentation and notes. The results of the research showed that there is a cause or basis for the naming used, namely (1) imitation of sounds with 2 data, (2) mention of parts with 3 data, (3) mention of distinctive characteristics with 11 data, (4) inventor and maker with 1 data, (5) place of origin with 5 data, (6) material with 2 data, (7) similarity with 3 data, (8) shortening with 2 data, and (9) new naming with 1 data. The basis or the reason for the unique naming of this food menu is dominated by the mention of the unique characteristics, namely 11 pieces of data. The practical implication of this research is to help business owners develop creative and different menu naming strategies to create their own identity and attract customers' attention.

Abstract

This activity aims to analyze the inhibiting factors affecting outpatient registration services at Puskesmas Botania Batam, focusing on the 2M approach (Man and Machine). Observations revealed significant barriers impacting service quality, such as changes in staff scheduling, miscommunication among staff, and equipment malfunctions involving computers and queue machines. The methods used were direct observation and interviews with registration officers during field practice. Based on the findings, it is recommended to improve staff coordination and conduct regular maintenance of facilities and infrastructure to enhance service quality.
