Abstract

Artikel ini memaparkan inisiatif pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada penyelenggaraan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pengelolaan jurnal berbasis Open Journal Systems (OJS) serta strategi akreditasi jurnal sebagai bagian dari pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Tujuannya adalah memberdayakan komunitas akademis dan penelitian dengan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan OJS untuk administrasi jurnal serta menerapkan strategi efektif untuk akreditasi jurnal. Program pengabdian ini melibatkan penyelenggaraan lokakarya dan sesi pendampingan, yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan khusus pengelola jurnal, editor, dan reviewer. Pelatihan menekankan pemanfaatan fitur OJS, alur kerja editorial, dan manajemen peer review yang efisien. Selain itu, program ini menjelajahi strategi komprehensif untuk mencapai dan menjaga akreditasi jurnal, meliputi pemahaman kriteria, proses evaluasi, dan adaptasi yang diperlukan. Metodologi melibatkan survei penilaian kebutuhan, analisis dokumen, dan interaksi langsung dengan anggota masyarakat yang terlibat dalam publikasi akademis. Hasil dari pelayanan masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan wawasan praktis, alat, dan panduan untuk memberdayakan peserta dalam mengoptimalkan fungsionalitas OJS dan menghadapi kompleksitas standar akreditasi jurnal. Dengan melanjutkan inisiatif pengabdian ini, tujuannya adalah berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas dan visibilitas publikasi ilmiah berbasis masyarakat. Dampak yang diantisipasi melibatkan pembentukan budaya perbaikan terus-menerus dalam praktik pengelolaan jurnal, sehingga meningkatkan output ilmiah dan pengakuan terhadap upaya akademis lokal. Upaya pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sejalan dengan tujuan lebih luas untuk memperkuat ekosistem penelitian dan mempromosikan keunggulan akademis di dalam komunitas. Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of students' reading anxiety in English, as well as to identify the causes of reading anxiety. The method of this research is quantitative. The subjects of this study were class XI students at high school in Palembang which amounted to 110 students. The researchers adopted the foreign language reading anxiety scale questionnaire, to examine students' reading anxiety levels. Meanwhile, in investigating students' potential reading anxiety factors, the researchers adopted a ready-made questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this study showed that: the level of reading anxiety which was most experienced by 62% of students is a moderate level, and for the major factor that causes students' reading anxiety is an unfamiliar topic 57.95% of students, the second factor is fear of making mistakes with 53.64%, the third factor is worry about the effect of reading with 53.33%, the fourth factor is unknown vocabulary with 52.27%, and students have chosen the last factor is foreign culture with 52%
