Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of bacterial contamination in broiler meat at the Sentani Jayapura traditional market by testing the total number of coliform bacteria. Sampling was carried out thoroughly among broiler chicken sellers at the Sentani Traditional market in Jayapura. Seven samples were from the Pharra market and three samples from the Lama market, so the total of broiler meat samples was 10 samples. Test result data is presented in the form of an average of contaminated samples, with descriptive analysis of the number of coliforms. The research results showed that the average amount of coliform in the Pharra market was 1.5 x 106 CFU/gram and the Lama market was 2.7 x 102 CFU/gram. It was concluded that traders in the Sentani traditional market, Jayapura Regency, did not apply hygiene measures during the selling process, resulting in chicken meat being contaminated with coliform bacteria.   Keywords: Coliform, Broiler Chicken Meat, Traditional Markets   ABSTRAK Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kontaminasi bakteri pada daging broiler di pasar tradisional Sentani Jayapura dengan menguji jumlah total bakteri koliform. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara menyeluruh terhadap penjual ayam broiler di pasar Tradisioanal Sentani Jayapura. Tujuh sampel dari pasar Pharra dan tiga sampel dari pasar Lama, sehingga total sampel daging broiler sebanyak 10 sampel. Data hasil pengujian disajikan dalam bentuk rataan sampel yang terkontaminasi, dengan analisis deskriptif jumlah coliform. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan jumlah koliform di pasar Pharra sebesar 1,5 x 106 CFU/gram dan pasar Lama sebesar 2,7 x 102 CFU/ gram. Disimpulkan bahwa pedagang di pasar tradisional Sentani Kabupaten Jayapura tidak menerapkan tindakan kebersihan pada saat proses penjualan sehingga mengakibatkan daging ayam terkontaminasi bakteri koliform.   Kata kunci: Koliform, Daging Broiler, Pasar Tradisional

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) supplements as a substitute for antibiotics on the performance of broiler chickens. This research was conducted under the auspices of the STIPER Santo Thomas Aquinas Livestock Research Program, Jayapura. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, each treatment was repeated 3 times, the treatment structure was P0 = control (commercial feed), P1 = control + 1% turmeric flour, P2 = control + 1 .5% turmeric flour and P3 = Control + 2.0% turmeric flour. The parameters observed were diet consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The data analysis used in this research was Analysis of Variation (ANOVA) and if there were significant differences, a BNT test was carried out using SPSS 16 software. The results showed that the addition of turmeric flour made a significant difference (P<0.05) to feed consumption and weight gain. body, but did not provide a significant difference (P>0.05) to broiler chicken feed conversion. The results of the additional BNT test for weight gain showed that treatment P2 and P3 gave the highest weight gain but did not provide any real difference (P>0.05) but did provide a difference in mortality for P0 and P1. Based on the results of the discussion it can be concluded that administration Turmeric flour supplements as a substitute for antibiotics 1.5% and 2% have the effect of increasing feed consumption, and can increase weight gain in broiler chickens. The addition of 1.5% turmeric flour can increase the feed conversion ability of broiler chickens.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of different manure to the growth of Mini Elephant Grass. This study used the Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with 4 treatments and repeated 4 times so that 16 experimental units were obtained. The treatments of this study were P0: without application of manure, P1: cow manure 910 tons/ha), P2: goat manure 915 tons/ha), P3: chicken manure (20 tons/ha). The parameters measured in this study were plant height, leaf length, number of shoots and fresh weight of Mini Elephant Grass. The results showed that the application of different manure significantly differed (P <0.05) on the number of shoots and fresh weight of Mini Elephant Grass. While for plant height and leaf length showed no difference (P> 0.05). The application of different manure can increase the growth of Mini Elephant Grass consisting of plant height, leaf length, number of shoots and fresh weight. The application of chicken manure (P3) is the best treatment to increase the growth of Mini Elephant Grass.

Abstract

A complete ration contains full necessary nutritional substances for the livestock at a certainphysiological level. The ration is made as a sole source of nutrients, excluding water for basic livingneeds and production. This study aims to analyze the fiber composition of white teak leaf-basedcomplete ration at different storage periods. This study employed a Completely Randomized Design(CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replicates encompassing T1 (0-week storage period), T2 (4-weekstorage period), and T3 (8-week storage period). Research result indicated that different periods ofstorage period had a significant effect (P<0.05) on complete ration NDF, ADF, hemicellulose,cellulose and lignin. However, no significant effect was identified from cellulose content. Inconclusion, an 8-week storage period did not significantly affect the fiber composition of the whiteteakleaf-basedcompleteration.

Abstract

Lighting is an important management technique in broiler rearing to increase growth.Because light is very influential on the development of cells - body cells, feed efficiency,physiological processes and behavior of chickens. The purpose of this study was todetermine the effect of lighting timing on broiler performance. This study used a completelyrandomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. With the treatmentarrangement: P0 (24 hours of lighting), P1 (22 hours of lighting), P2 (20 hours of lighting), P3(18 hours of lighting). The results obtained in this study were the amount of feedconsumption in the P0 and P1 treatments was lower than the P2 and P3 treatments. Thishappened because P2 (24 hours of light) and P1 (22 hours of lighting) caused the chickensto be active both at night and during the day so as to reduce feed consumption, Weight Gain(PBB) increased from P0, P2 to P3 and decreased PBB at P1. This is because the darkconditions at P2 and P3 caused the chickens to tend to reduce movement, the lowest ormost efficient broiler feed conversion was achieved by treatment P0 (24 hours of lighting)with a conversion of 1.47 while the highest in treatment P1 was 1.57 although statistically didnot show a significant difference.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the appearance of production of the beef cattle business farming by partnersip system namely gaduhan system in 2019 in Arso District, Keerom, Papua. A survey was conducted on all domestic cattle breeders as many as 40 breeders that lasted from April to May 2021. The initial weight of the cattle was 115.19 kg and the average final weight of the cattle was 229.55 kg, so the average weight gain of domestic cattle of gaduhan system kept by as many as 40 breeders in Arso District, Keerom Regency is about 114.36 kg during the rearing period of approximately 360 days so that the average weight gain of cattle per day is 0.32 kg. The daily weight gain of domestic cattle of gaduhan system kept by breeders is quite high. The conclusion obtained is that the performance of domestic cattle production of gaduhan system in Arso District, Keerom Regency, aid package in 2019 is quite good.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas organoleptik telur asin dari abu gosok dan abu pelepah kelapa dengan metode pemasakan yang berbeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuandandiulang sebanyak 15 kali. Adapun susunan perlakukaan sebagai berikut: P1 = Metode pemasakan dengan perebusan pada suhu 1000c selama 30 menit, P2 = Metode pemasakan dengan cara pengukusan pada suhu1000c selama 30 menit, P3 = Metode pemasakan dengan cara pengovenanpada suhu 1000c selama 30 menit. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitas organoleptik, yaitu uji mutu hedonik (warna putih dan kuning telur asin, aroma, tekstur putih dan kuning telur asin, rasa) dan uji hedonik (tingkat kesekukaan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pemasakan yang berbeda tidak berbeda nyata terhadap semua variabel yang diamati. Warna putih telur yang dihasilkan: putih kekuningan, warna kuning telur: kuning kemerahan, aroma: amis, tekstur putih telur: kenyal, tekstur kuning telur: agak masir, sedangkan rasa adalah asin. Tingkat kesukaan terhadap: warna telur asin berada pada level agak suka, sedangkan aroma, tekstur, dan rasa pada level disukai.

Abstract

Indigofera zollingeriana is one type of leguminosae that has great potential to be used as an alternative feed as an alternative source of protein in the development of livestock production. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of Indigofera Zollengeriana leaf flour in feed on the performance of broiler chickens. This study was conducted in Yoka Village, Heram District, Jayapura City, Papua Province. The material used in the study was 50 DOC strain Cobb. This study was conducted experimentally using a comparative technique method between two different treatment groups, namely P1 = 25 chickens given 100% complete feed without indigofera flour and P2 = 25 chickens given 95% complete feed + 5% Indigofera leaf flour. The variables measured in this study included feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion of broiler chickens. The results showed that the use of 5% Indigofera leaf flour can provide a significant difference (P <0.05) on feed consumption of 2206 grams/head, can increase body weight gain by 1211 grams/head, and reduce the feed conversion value by 1.87. The use of 5% indigofera flour in broiler chicken feed affects feed consumption, high body weight gain and low feed conversion value. The use of 5% indigofera leaf flour can be applied to broiler chickens.

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh partisipasi perempuan dalam urusan domestik, terutama dalam hal pemeliharaan ternak babi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai Juli 2023 berlokasi di Kelurahan Karubaga, Distrik Karubaga Kabupaten Tolikara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan cara turun langsung ke lokasi penelitian untuk mengamati fenomena yang ada serta mencari informasi kepada peternak babi terkait hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan penelitian. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposif, dengan mengambil peternak babi perempuan yang berpartisipasi aktif dalam pemelihraan ternak babi sebanyak lima belas peternak sebagai responden. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah curahan waktu perempuan dalam kerja rutin dalam kegiatan persiapan 18 menit/hari, perjalanan dari rumah ke kandang 6,2 menit/hari, mencari dan mengolah bahan pakan 73 menit/hari, memberi makan dan minum 27 menit/hari, memandikan ternak babi 27 menit/hari serta membersihkan kandang babi 22.33 menit/hari; sedangkan curahan waktu perempuan dalam kerja tidak rutin/insidental dalam kegiatan perbaikan kandang babi 9,2 jam/tahun, pengadaan bibit 1,2 jam/tahun, penyapihan anak babi 1,8 jam/tahun, pengobatan/perawatan kesehatan babi 5,07 jam/tahun, mengawinkan ternak babi 1,87 jam/tahun, membantu proses kelahiran ternak babi 10,87 jam/tahun serta penjualan ternak 5,07 jam/tahun, dan partisiasi perempuan dalam pengambilan keputusan dalam kegitan pemilihan dan pembelian bibit, penjualan ternak dan penggunaan keuangan 100% perempuan berpartisipasi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah partisipasi perempuan dalam kegiatan rutin dilakukan selama hampir 3 jam/hari, sedangkan kagitan tidak rutin digunakan waktu sebanyak 35,33 jam/tahun dan perempuan 100% berpartsispasi dalam pengambilan keputusan dalam pemelihraan ternak babi.
