Abstract

Education in Indonesia is currently faced with demands to be able to produce quality human resources (HR), namely HR who are able to adapt to the current era of globalization. So education is a determining element in the development of human resources. Learning activities are the most important activities in overall efforts to improve the quality of education. This is because it is through good learning activities that educational goals will be achieved thereby influencing student learning outcomes which are an indicator of success in the learning process. The problem faced by teachers is the teacher's ability to design learning tools by paying attention to the environment as a learning resource. Therefore, before the school year starts, teachers are required to design lesson plans (teaching preparation plans), prepare learning tools/media, and material evaluation materials. The results of the hypothesis test in the table above show the significance value (sig.) or p for the learning model = 0.003. This significance value is smaller than the α value of 0.05, so Ho states "there is no difference in student learning outcomes in classes taught using a contextual approach and classes taught without using a contextual approach." rejected. So the research hypothesis states "there is a difference in student learning outcomes in classes taught using a contextual approach and classes taught without using a contextual approach." Accepted. In data presentation and data analysis, there are results that show there are significant differences in contextual approaches to student learning outcomes at Saparua Christian High School. The contextual approach provides better results than conventional learning. In accordance with the results of the t test with the help of the SPSS 21 program, the t count is 3.251. Where the significance level is 0.05, the t table is 2.055, which means there is an influence with the use of learning with a contextual approach

Abstract

The learning activity in history at SMA Negeri 22 Seram Bagian Barat is still low, and the teaching methods used so far are mostly lectures and question-and-answer sessions that do not actively engage students. This study aims to determine how the use of the scramble method can increase students learning activity in history lessons. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 30 students of grade XI. The results showed an increase in the percentage of student learning activities from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the average student activity in the first meeting was 55.4%, increasing to 62.7% in the second meeting. In cycle II, the first meeting reached 70.1% and the second meeting 76.3%. The percentage increase in learning activity between cycle I and cycle II was 20.9%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of the scramble method is effective in fostering learning activity in history at SMA Negeri 22 Seram Bagian Barat.
