Abstract

Politeness strategies are often found in everyday interaction. Research related to politeness strategies needs to be updated considering that language continues to evolve. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the types of politeness strategies and sociological factors that influence the teacher in choosing certain politeness strategies during synchronous online learning at SMK Negeri 42 Jakarta. In conducting the research, the researcher analyzed the data by referring to the politeness strategy theory proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987). The result of this study shows that there are four types of politeness strategies applied by the teacher, including bald on-record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off record strategy with positive politeness as the type of politeness strategy that is most often used by the teacher in her teaching. Social distance and relative power were also investigated as sociological factors that influence the teacher in choosing certain type of politeness strategy. The analysis of the implementation of the politeness strategy in two English teaching and learning videos have been further explained in the results and discussion section.

Abstract

This research examines the Realization of Kaluna’s Character in the Home Sweet Loan Film in Real Life using Literary Psychology Theory through a qualitative approach. This film tells the story of Kaluna’s struggle to realize her dream of owning her own home but she must face economic problems, family problems and toxic relationships. This research aims to explain the realization of kaluna’s character in real life such as family and romance problems, economic problems, being the backbone of the family, burying dreams. This research uses Abraham Maslow’s theory. The results of this study are that in the movie Home Sweet Loan there are several scenes which show symptoms of literary psychology. Then in this study found several solutions based on questionnaires that have been distributed to respondents.

Abstract

UMKM  Ratu  Eceng  melihat  dan  menangkap  potensi  di  tengah  meningkatnya pertumbuhan tanaman eceng gondok sekitar Danau Cipondoh, Kota Tangerang, dengan bergerak untuk  menciptakan  produk  eco-  friendly  atau  ramah  lingkungan  yang  tujuan  utamanya  yaitu salah  satu  upaya  dalam  pengendalian  gulma. Selama  14  tahun  fokus  dalam mengembangkan bisnis, produk yang telah dihasilkan oleh Ratu Eceng yaitu aneka tas, laundry bag, placemat, round puff,  kursi,  sofa,  dan  lain-lain.  Sejak  awal  usaha  ini  berdiri,  Ratu  Eceng menggunakan  teknik penjualan  secara  offline  (rumah  produksi)  dan  mencoba  teknik  penjualan  secara  online menggunakan  platform  WhatsApp,  Instagram,  Facebook,  Website  dan  E-commerce.  Namun belum banyak masyarakat umum  yang mengetahui usaha  kerajinan  tangan  Ratu Eceng  karena Identitas visual yang digunakan belum sesuai dengan karakteristik Ratu Eceng, dan media promosi yang digunakan masih kurang optimal, hal tersebut masih bisa untuk dikembangkan lagi sehingga dapat  lebih  efektif  dan  efisien.  Adapun  metode  pengumpulan  data  yang  digunakan  dalam penelitian  ini  yaitu  kombinasi  atau  kualitatif  dan  kuantitatif  dengan  melakukan  observasi, wawancara,  kuesioner,  dan  studi  pustaka.  Kemudian  dianalisis  dengan matriks  perbandingan, hingga mendapatkan kesimpulan. Hasil akhir dari perancangan berupa Graphic Standard Manual dan  implementasinya pada media promosi yang  telah ditentukan melalui proses pengumpulan data  dan  menganalisis.  Perancangan  ini  diharapkan  dapat  meningkatkan  kepercayaan masyarakat dengan membangun brand  image terhadap Ratu Eceng dan melalui  identitas visual dan  media  promosi  yang  dibuat  lebih  menarik  dan  efektif.Kata kunci : UMKM, kerajinan, tangerang, identitas visual, promosi
