Abstract

Poetry is a literary work full of meaning and symbolism. One poem that is interesting to analyze semantically is "My Heart is as Wide as a Leaf" by Sapardi Djoko Damono. In this article, we carry out an in-depth analysis of the hidden meanings in the poem. We use a semantic approach to explore the meaning of each line of poetry, identifying the metaphors, symbolism and connotations used by the poet. The analysis in this research uses a descriptive method, which describes the data naturally and produces good and coherent linguistic rules. Apart from that, we also pay attention to the structure and arrangement of words chosen by Sapardi Djoko Damono to express the implied messages in this poem. Through this analysis, we seek to understand more deeply the message the poet wants to convey, as well as explain how the use of language and symbolism in this poem can affect the reader emotionally and intellectually. It is hoped that the results of this analysis will provide new insights into Sapardi Djoko Damono's literary works and enrich understanding of modern Indonesian poetry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of social media on language diversity, with a special emphasis on the phenomenon of code mixing, which is now a communication trend among Indonesian youth. Young people use code mixing to express their social and cultural identities in an international society. This study aims to understand how social media influences communication patterns and language diversity, and how code mixing impacts the socio-linguistic dynamics of young people. In addition, code mixing, which combines elements of Indonesian and English in conversation, has become part of everyday communication styles, especially on social media such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp. This study is also important to understand how social media influences communication patterns, language diversity, and the impact of code mixing on the socio-linguistic dynamics of young people. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the phenomenon of code mixing in young people's communication on social media. This qualitative approach is considered appropriate because it allows researchers to explore in depth the use of language in a particular social context.The use of code mixing in young people's communication is not just a trend, but reflects changing attitudes towards language. On the one hand, code mixing can be considered a form of linguistic creativity to enrich language diversity, young people use code mixing to express self-identity, openness to foreign cultures, or show affiliation with certain communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media ajar berbasis audio visual dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya materi teks tanggapan di SMP Negeri 9 Tebing Tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengikuti model Borg and Gall. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VII di SMP Negeri 9 Tebing Tinggi. Hasil pengujian dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan ekspresi siswa, motivasi belajar, dan pemahaman terhadap materi. Siswa menjadi lebih termotivasi dan juga aktif dalam berdiskusi. Pemahaman siswa terhadap materi teks tanggapan juga semakin mendalam melalui konteks visual yang disajikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media ajar berbasis audio visual sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman siswa
