Abstract

Wounds are conditions of damage and partial loss of body tissue caused by physical trauma, sharp objects, blunt objects, temperature fluctuations, chemical exposure. Wound healing is a complex interaction between cells, cytokines, mediators, and blood vessels as a natural physiological response to tissue damage. TNF-α has a crucial role in the wound healing process, facilitating body immunity, immune cell mobilization, fibroblast cell proliferation, keratinocytes, and growth factor expression. Although TNF-alpha has benefits in the early stages of wound healing, excessively high levels or a sustained inflammatory response can lead to problems, such as excessive scar tissue formation or blockages, which can impede the wound healing process. This study utilized the PRISMA-ScR (Scoping Review) protocol. A review was conducted of articles discussing the Role of TNF-Alpha in the Wound Healing Process: Molecular and Clinical Perspectives within the last 10 years. Literature search in this study using PubMed, ScienceDirect, Elsivier and Google Scolar databases Search using English, abstract and full text. After searching with the keywords: The Role of TNF-Alpha, 19,022 articles were found. The search continued using the keyword The Role of TNF-Alpha in the Wound Healing found 346 articles. The last search using the keyword The Role of TNF-Alpha in the Wound Healing: Molecular and Clinical found 26 articles. TNF-α plays an important role in the early stages of cutaneous wound healing, significantly delayed after day 3, but not by day 7. TNF-α has a crucial role in the early stages of skin wound healing, and its administration is recognized to have a positive impact on the healing response, which may pave the way for innovative strategies to address chronic skin wound healing problems.

Abstract

Abstract. Human Growth and human insulin were the first proteins to be produced on an industrial scale. Methods: The research method used in this study was a clinical literature review on recombinant DNA techniques from insulin in bacteria from the review literature taken from Pubmed and SCopus, for further search and analysis with other existing research. Recombinant DNA technology comprises altering genetic material outside an organism to obtain enhanced and desired characteristics in living organisms or as their products. Two biosynthetic insulin analogs have sufficiently long duration of action for use as once-daily basal insulins. Some biosimilars have been developed to human insulins as produced by Lilly and NovoNordisk, but their use is more restricted given the problems encountered by the use of human insulin, see Dolinar et al for a recent review of the field. Several companies have developed or are developing depot preparations that can be administered one a week instead of once a day. Recombinant DNA technology is an important development in science that has made the human life much easier. The clinical effect of Growth hormone therapy in children can be best measured on an annual basis and compared with predicted adult height whereas failure to lower blood sugar can be seen immediately in insulin or insulin analogue therapy.

Abstract

The Role of Terpenoids in Butterfly Pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) in the Wound Healing Process: A Literature ReviewAbstractWounds occur when the integrity of the tissue is compromised due to injury or surgery and can be grouped based on structure, healing process, and healing time. When the skin is injured, the body responds by stopping bleeding through vasoconstriction and the formation of blood clots. Telang flower is a traditional medicinal plant that can improve skin health and support tissue regeneration thanks to the content of terpenoids as bioactive components. Terpenoids are organic compounds with various functions that contribute significantly to healing properties. These compounds have various biological effects, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial effects essential for wound healing. The literature review in this study uses the PRISMA-ScR (Scoping Review) protocol. The review was conducted in an article that discusses the influence of terpenoids in the wound-healing process. A literature search was conducted, and articles published in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute) were used. Articles in English and Indonesian have been published for the last ten years. The results of four articles were obtained following the research criteria. This study concludes that terpenoids can speed up the wound-healing process by promoting angiogenesis, which helps flow oxygen and nutrients to the injured area. In addition to reducing inflammation, terpenoids also support the metabolism of cells involved in wound healing.

Abstract

Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is one of the most crucial proinflammatory mediators critically involved in the development of insulin resistance and the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Elevated levels of TNF-α induce insulin resistance in adipocytes and peripheral tissues. A literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Science direct to explore articles discussing TNF-Alpha in type 2 diabetes over the past 5–10 years. Keywords were searched individually or in combination with others, and articles in English were screened. The literature reveals a connection between TNF-alpha and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and the development of insulin resistance are characterized by various stimulating factors, particularly the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and an increase in various pro-inflammatory cytokines. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is identified as one of the key proinflammatory mediators involved in insulin resistance development and T2DM pathogenesis. TNF-α is implicated in various human pathologies, including autoimmune diseases, obesity-related insulin resistance, cardiovascular complications, cancer, and plays a role in the occurrence of chronic inflammation in the kidneys, a form of complication in type 2 diabetes. Other studies support the notion that the effects of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α) can disrupt insulin signaling pathways, leading to insulin resistance in pancreatic B cells. In conclusion, this research indicates that Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) can induce insulin resistance, contributing to the onset of type 2 diabetes.
