Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the learning environment on the quality of student learning at SD Negeri 0102 Sibuhuan. The learning environment in this context includes the physical condition of the classroom, supporting facilities, social interactions among school members, and the overall learning atmosphere. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with data collection techniques including questionnaires and observations. The sample consisted of 170 Four, five,sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The results of the study show that the learning environment has a significant impact on the quality of student learning. This is evidenced by higher average learning outcomes among students who study in a more conducive environment. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the better the learning environment, the higher the quality of student learning.

Abstract

Multicultural education is an important approach to instilling empathy in the midst of Indonesia’s diverse society. Teachers play a strategic role as agents of change in shaping students’ character to live harmoniously alongside various backgrounds. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in developing students’ empathy through multicultural education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Padang Lawas Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, and data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers are aware of the importance of diversity as part of the educational process and integrate empathy values into learning through strategies such as cross-background group discussions, the use of folklore, and reflective activities. Teachers also serve as role models in inclusive and fair attitudes toward all students. The success of teachers is supported by an open school environment, madrasah policy support, and personal commitment, although obstacles such as limited training and time constraints remain. This study concludes that the role of teachers is crucial in fostering student empathy through continuous multicultural education.

Abstract

Student discipline is one of the important factors in supporting the success of the learning process in elementary schools. However, in reality, there is still a low level of student discipline, particularly in terms of punctuality, compliance with rules, and responsibility in completing assignments. This study aims to improve student discipline through the application of the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model to third-grade students at SDN 0107 Tanjung Botung. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle covering the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model was able to significantly improve student discipline, as seen from the increase in punctuality, compliance with school rules, and student responsibility in completing tasks. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model is effective as an alternative learning strategy to foster and improve student discipline in elementary schools.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect in shaping the personality of elementary school students, whose development is greatly influenced by the school environment. A conducive school environment, including values, norms, school climate, and teacher role models, plays an important role in instilling positive character in students from an early age. This study aims to determine the influence of the school environment on the character formation of elementary school students at SDN 0107 Tanjung Botung. The research method used is quantitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The research population consisted of 289 students with a sample of 47 students selected using random sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, while data analysis used descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed that the school environment had a significant effect on the character formation of students, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a t-value greater than the t-table. The coefficient of determination shows that the school environment contributes 21% to the formation of student character. The conclusion of this study confirms that the better the school environment, the more optimal the formation of student character, so that continuous efforts from the entire school community and support from families and the community are needed to strengthen character education.

Abstract

Technological developments demand innovation in learning to suit the characteristics of Generation Z students, who tend to prefer visual, interactive, and technology-based learning. The low level of student learning activity at SD Negeri 0101 Sibuhuan in conventional learning encourages the need for more interesting media, one of which is through educational games. This study aims to determine the effect of using educational games on the learning activity of elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. The sample was determined using probability sampling with simple random sampling. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, and documentation, while data analysis used validity, reliability, normality, simple linear regression, and t-tests at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the average learning activity of students in classes that used educational games was 86, higher than that of conventional classes, which was 72. The regression equation Y = 35 + 0.6X with a coefficient of determination of 0.45 and a t-value of 4.12 > t-table 2.00 indicated a significant effect of the use of educational games on student learning activity. In conclusion, educational games have been proven to be effective in increasing student learning activity and can be used as an alternative innovative learning medium in elementary schools.
