Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant differences and effectiveness of podcasts on the listening skills of 9th grade students of SMP N 5 Jepara in the academic year 2022/2023. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design involving 30 students of 9H as the experimental class and 30 students of 9G as the control class. Data was collected using a listening test instrument consisting of pre-test and post-test. Then, the sampling technique used by the researcher was purposive sampling in which the sample was not taken at random. Furthermore, data analysis used SPSS statistical calculations. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was higher than the control class (86.9 > 78.9). This indicated that there was a significant difference in the post-test results. Then, the results of the hypothesis analysis showed that t observe was higher than table, namely (4,176 > 2,000). In addition, the 2 tailed sig was lower than alpha (0.00 < 0.05). This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. These results showed significant differences in the use of podcasts for students' listening skills. Besides that, podcast was also effectively used for listening learning.

Abstract

One of the provisions in writing scientific papers is that there must be references in foreign languages. The problem arises that students have difficulty in capturing accurately and properly the message or meaning written in foreign language references due to differences in cultural context between Indonesian and foreign languages. This study aims to investigate the role of intercultural competence in writing scientific papers by students at the Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic University of Jepara. This study uses a qualitative research design with observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, and literature studies. Data analysis uses content analysis techniques. The participants observed were all 22 seventh semester students and 3 supervisors of writing scientific papers/thesis. The results of the study indicate that intercultural competence is very necessary to be taught to students who are completing scientific papers so that students can properly understand foreign language literature. The second finding revealed that there was a real impact of the role of intercultural competence in compiling scientific papers, namely increasing students' understanding of foreign language reference sources. The implication of the research results is that universities need to include intercultural competence in the study program curriculum.

Abstract

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Peran Kepala Madrasah dalam Upaya Peningkatan Mutu Lulusan pada Madrasah Dasar Fathul Ulum, Pelang Lor, Mayong, Jepara. Tujuan pertama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan Peran Kepala Madrasah sebagai Manajer dalam upaya peningkatan mutu lulusan. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimana Peran Kepala Madrasah sebagai Manajer dalam mengimplementasikan visi dan misi Madrasah untuk meningkatkan mutu lulusan pada SD Fathul Ulum Pelang Lor Mayong Jepara, 2) Apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang dihadapi Kepala Madrasah sebagai Manajer dalam Upaya Peningkatan Mutu Lulusan pada SD Fathul Ulum Pelang Lor Mayong Jepara, dan 3) Bagaimana Hasil Peran Kepala Madrasah dalam Upaya Peningkatan Mutu Lulusan pada SD Fathul Ulum Pelang Lor Mayong Jepara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data diawali dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sedangkan uji keabsahan data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kepala Madrasah melaksanakan peran Kepala Madrasah sebagai manajer dalam upaya peningkatan mutu lulusan dengan melakukan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan, dan pengawasan. (2) Faktor pendukung: Dukungan guru dan orang tua dalam perencanaan penambahan jam di luar kegiatan belajar mengajar; Adanya tim khusus peningkatan mutu lulusan; Adanya semangat dan dukungan dalam pelaksanaan penambahan jam di luar kegiatan belajar mengajar; Adanya monitoring penambahan jam di luar kegiatan belajar mengajar oleh kepala madrasah. Faktor penghambat: keterbatasan anggaran dan sarana prasarana; tugas yang tumpang tindih; waktu pelaksanaan terbatas dan tidak efektif; banyaknya jadwal kegiatan guru dan kepala madrasah. (3) Hasil peran kepala madrasah sebagai manajer dalam upaya peningkatan mutu lulusan adalah adanya target KKM yaitu nilai minimal 70, adanya target rata-rata nilai UM minimal 70, adanya target kelulusan yaitu kelulusan 100%, adanya target melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi yaitu 20 siswa berhasil masuk di SMPN 1 Mayong, 2 siswa masuk di MTsN 2 Kudus, 1 siswa di MTsN 1 Jepara, dan 7 siswa masuk di SMPI Al Hikmah Pelemkerep Mayong Jepara, adanya target kejuaraan lomba tingkat lokal yaitu 1 siswa meraih prestasi pada cabang lomba Taekwondo Putri tingkat kabupaten tahun 2023, dan siswa lainnya meraih prestasi melalui kegiatan Porseni dan Ta’aruf Camp tingkat kecamatan Mayong tahun 2023,dan adanya target kemampuan spiritual mendalam yang harus dimiliki siswa yaitu 9 siswa mampu membaca Al-Qur'an khususnya Yasiin, Tahlil dan Juz 30 dengan predikat sangat baik, 10 siswa dengan predikat baik, dan 11 siswa dengan predikat cukup baik.. Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Scout extracurricular activities in the development of student character in MIN 1 Jepara. The background of this research departs from the challenges of students' character in the digital era, such as declining discipline and social sensitivity. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that structured and routine Scout activities are able to shape student character values, especially discipline, responsibility, independence, cooperation, and social concern. The process of internalizing values is carried out through an approach of habituation, example, and strengthening the meaning of activities, with support from the head of the madrasah and the coach. The main obstacle faced is the limited facilities and training of coaches. Nevertheless, Scout activities have proven to be an effective instrument of character education in Islamic-based ibtidaiyah madrasas. This research contributes to strengthening the character development model in basic education institutions and becomes a practical reference in optimizing scouting activities
