Abstract

The commitment to implementing inclusive education in Indonesia is already at the higher education level. However, in reality, disabled people still have difficulty obtaining opportunities to study in university. Concerning the gap in inclusive education (commitment and implementation), this article aims to examine the inclusive education management performance at universities in Indonesia. This review is critical because only 401 disabled people in Indonesia are registered as students at various universities in Indonesia. The articles in the current study go through three stages of narrative review: determining the scope of the research focus, determining the urgency and novelty of the research, and determining the research formulation and objectives. A study of 14 articles through the Google Scholar database was published in 2000-2021. The study results show that most universities in Indonesia are still not open to inclusive education and the admission of students with disabilities implementation. In addition, universities in Indonesia are not ready to provide management and facilities that support the learning process and the accessibility of the campus environment to suit the needs of students with disabilities. Human resources in higher education such as lecturers and education staff are not ready to provide services and modify learning for disabled students.

Abstract

Children with special needs will achieve good learning outcomes if educators conduct assessments.  Assessment is a process to collect information about abilities, advantages and needs that will be used as considerations and decisions related to the preparation of academic programs.  This study aims to develop a visual perception assessment product in the form of a digital book for students with intellectual disability which is expected to be able to measure the ability, difficulty and needs in aspects of the development of children's visual perception with cases of mental impairment needed as consideration in planning learning programs, especially in reading learning.  The method used in this study adapts the Research and Development method initiated by Borg & Gall. The validity of the resulting product is calculated by Aiken's V formula which compared with the table r value (0.78) obtained a material validity value of 0.95 (very valid), a media validity of 0.90 (very valid) and a system validity of 0.91(very valid). The reliability of the products developed proved to be reliable and consistent based on the Cronbach Alpha test which obtained a value of 0.744, higher than the minimum Cronbach Alpha score limit of 0.60. The implementation of the assessment by students with mental disabilities obtained a score of 96.9 percent, meaning that the product can be used very well. Based on the results of this study, the visual perception assessment in the form of interactive digital books for students with intellectual disability that have been developed is suitable for use.

This literature review aims to summarize how the concept of inclusion policy is in the perspective of East Java culture. The selection of articles started from peer-reviewed research journals at Google Scholar and Z-library. From this search, 14,700 articles were found. Then after screening the articles published from 2010 to 2020 and found 1045 articles. There were 10 articles that were studied and analyzed according to the topic discussed. The analysis technique used is content analysis. Abstract

Students with intellectual disabilities have limited thinking, especifically in abstract. That is the main factor causing the low learning achievement specifically in the field of arithmetic (mathematics). The selection of learning media that is suitable for the characteristics of intellectual disabilities is very important to bridge the abstract and concrete so that it is easy to understand. Media “dekak-dekak” becomes one of the learning media that is used in the sum operations for student with intellectual disability. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of the use of media “dekak-dekak” in the sum operation 1-10 for mild intellectual disability students in the 1st grade of Special School. This research is a class action research, which limits effectiveness based on the completeness minimum criteria (KKM) of 75 value points. A student, class teacher, and an observer participated in this study. The results of the study recorded the value of 50 points in the pre-cycle, the value of 70 points in the first cycle, and the value of 80 points in the second cycle. Thus, the media "dekak-dekak" effectively to be applied to the learning of the sum operations 1-10 for students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

The difficulty experienced by students with mental disabilities in understanding the learning of reduction operations is due to their very limited learning capacity, especially regarding abstract matters. Students need concrete and interesting media so that the learning process is more fun and easy to understand, so karbicus media (Cuisenairare number cards) are offered. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of karbicus media on improving students' abilities in learning mathematics material of 1-10 reduction operations in class IV SLB YPAC MALANG CITY. This research method is classroom Action research. This study was designed in 2 cycles, each cycle consists of 3 meetings. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected by test and observation techniques. Indicators for students are declared complete learning when they reach a score of 70 or more and are declared to increase when the post-test value of cycle II is higher than the post-test value of cycle I. The results of the study can be concluded that there is an increase in the ability of mentally impaired students in class IV SLB YPAC MALANG IN the 1-10 summation material using karbicus media.
