Abstract

The demand for clean water in Binyan, Buahan Village, Kintamani District, is high due to its use in drinking, sanitation, agriculture, and livestock. Identifying aquifers at specific depths can be achieved using the resistivity geoelectric method. Considering the morphology of the survey object which is one of the triangle faces of the traces of Mount Batur Purba with wavy to steep contours, Geoelectric measurements using AGR/ADMT Type 300 HT2 were chosen. This method allows its use without the need to lay cables. This tool has the capability to reach a depth of up to 300 meters below the ground surface. The purpose of this research is to interpret data using 2-dimensional modeling to detect groundwater aquifers in the study area. Based on the rock resistivity contour interpretation along a 50 m track from west to east, the optimal drilling point is recommended at a depth of 285 m below the surface, with a total well depth of over 300 m. Filters should be installed at depths of 165 m, 195 m, and 285 m to account for the lithology, distribution, thickness, and depth of the rock layers.

Abstract

Suwung Final Disposal Site (TPA) is a waste disposal site located in Suwung Kauh village, Denpasar District, south of the city of Denpasar, Bali. One of the problems arising from the accumulation of waste in the TPA is the presence of pollutants in the form of leachate. The aim of this research is to determine the level of concentration in the leachate and its effect on the quality of shallow groundwater around the Suwung landfill. Parameters tested on leachate include pH, chloride, turbidity, odor and color concentrations which will be compared with leachate water quality standards in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number P.59/Menlhk/Setjen/Kum.1/7/2016 and shallow groundwater quality testing with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia 416/Menkes/PER/IX/1990.In the leachate water quality test, the results showed pH (7), chloride (3.0 mg/L), turbidity (194 FNU), odor and brownish black color (qualitative test using the five senses). Shallow groundwater quality tests are carried out in each well that has been determined. Testing the quality of shallow groundwater obtained results for the Suwung TPA monitoring well, pH (7), chloride (0.3mg/L), turbidity (1, 19FNU), odorless and colorless. Testing for residents' dug wells approximately 1 (one) kilometer away resulted in pH (6), chloride (1.5 mg/L), turbidity (1.95 FNU), odorless and colorless. Results from shallow groundwater characteristics testing shows that there are five parameters that meet water quality standards, namely pH, chloride, turbidity, odor and color. So it can be concluded that leachate water does not affectthe quality of shallow groundwater in residents dug wells around Suwung TPA with concentrations of pH,chloride, turbidity, odor and color

Abstract

The waste accumulation problem is no longer a new problem at Kuta Beach. Various efforts have been made by society and local government to reduce existing pollution. However, these efforts are still unable to reduce the huge rubbish problem at Kuta Beach. The phenomenon of the west wind that sends rubbish from outside Bali and the society’s lack awareness in protecting the environment worsen the beauty of Kuta Beach. This waste problem threatens Kuta Beach in terms of beauty, public health and the biota around it. One effort that can be made to overcome this problem is by carrying out beach clean-up activities around Kuta Beach. This beach clean-up action aims to provide understanding to the local community and tourists about the importance of maintaining cleanliness so that the beauty of Kuta Beach can be enjoyed comfortably. The implementation of this beach clean-up action received the attention of many parties and was attended by 1798 participants consisting of various groups of people from children to adults. The beach clean-up activity was well organized and ran smoothly in accordance with the activity plan that had been prepared.
