Abstract

The surge in global oil prices and the consequent scarcity of oil have significantly impacted cooking oil prices in Indonesia, making it a critical issue for analysis. Previous studies have often overlooked governmental interventions' immediate and long-term effects on cooking oil prices, leaving a gap in understanding their comprehensive impact on traditional market economies. This article evaluates the Indonesian government's policy responses, including oil subsidies and export bans, to mitigate cooking oil price hikes and their effects on traditional markets. Field research was conducted at the Srijaya Sayur Traditional Market in Madiun City using qualitative methods. While the study provides valuable insights, it is important to acknowledge its limitations, such as the focus on a single market and the potential bias in the data gathered through interviews. The analysis revealed that the government's abrupt intervention caused market distortions, such as distribution issues and price inconsistencies. However, these issues diminished over time as oil stock levels increased and enforcement actions against illegal activities were strengthened. This study contributes new insights into the effectiveness of policy interventions and highlights the alignment with Ibn Taymiyah's principles of distribution justice. In conclusion, while the policies initially disrupted market stability, they ultimately stabilized prices and aligned with consumer purchasing power.

Abstract

Peran modal sosial sangat penting. Kata kunci: modal sosial, pasar tradisional, ritel modern, budaya islam Abstract: This study was studied using descriptive qualitative methods based on the Social Capital theory by Robert David Putnam. The findings indicate that the social capital already owned by traders in traditional markets is formed at the micro and mezzo levels. At the micro level, bonding social capital appears in the relationship of traders who interact with fellow traders and customers. At the meso level, bridging social capital appears horizontally by traders who have interaction relationships with traders in other markets or distributors. In contrast, vertically, traders interact with market managers or the government. The role of social capital is vital. The existence of values and norms fosters trust so that an attitude of trust, mutual respect, mutual assistance, and mutual support is formed even though physical and economic conditions are weakening. Social capital impacts the strength of togetherness and mutual aid in the trading community in traditional markets relevant to Islamic culture. The interaction relationship that is integrated with cultural values as well as the attitude of mutual trust which is reflected in the provision of debt, is one of the factors that strengthen the existence of the traditional market in the onslaught of modern retail. This is a typical phenomenon of traditional markets not owned by modern retailers. Keywords: social capital, traditional market, modern market, Islamic culture

Abstract

This study examines evolving crime patterns in the banking sector, highlighting the shift from conventional fraud to sophisticated cybercrimes such as phishing, ransomware, and data breaches. Digitalization and financial innovation have had a profound impact on criminal strategies, exposing vulnerabilities in digital systems and creating new security challenges for banks. Utilising a literature review method, the research explores the nexus between cybercrime and money laundering (TPPU) as well as terrorism financing (TPPT). In these contexts, cyberattacks frequently facilitate the execution of untraceable international transactions. The study recommends the adoption of technologies such as AI-based anomaly detection, the tightening of cybersecurity regulations, and the improvement of cyber awareness among employees and customers. Furthermore, it emphasises the enhancement of the supervisory role of Indonesia's Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in monitoring digital financial flows and the promotion of international information sharing. Cross-sector collaboration among financial institutions, regulators, and technology providers is deemed crucial to strengthening the global financial system's defences. These measures are intended to enhance Indonesia's Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (APU PPT) framework in response to the growing risks of the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the role of philanthropy in the creative economy sector, focusing on the challenges and opportunities faced through a literature review. The creative economy plays a vital role in economic growth and cultural development, while philanthropy provides critical resources to support creative initiatives. However, the integration of philanthropy in this sector faces several challenges, including alignment between philanthropic goals and the needs of the creative industry, equitable distribution of funds, and evaluation of the impact of philanthropic contributions. The literature suggests that philanthropy can enhance innovation and cultural diversity, but there is a gap in understanding and communication between philanthropists and creative professionals. The effectiveness of philanthropic efforts is often hampered by bureaucracy and a lack of strategic alignment. Opportunities to enhance the role of philanthropy include strengthening collaboration between philanthropic organizations and creative actors, leveraging technology for more efficient fund distribution, and developing metrics to measure the impact of philanthropic investments. This study suggests that a more strategic, inclusive, and transparent approach to philanthropy in the creative economy sector could unlock substantial benefits, promoting innovation, cultural enrichment, and economic resilience. This study provides important insights for developing best practices in philanthropic engagement in the creative economy sector, ensuring that the needs of diverse creative communities are met and sustained.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is vital in advancing human rights in the business sector, especially in the increasingly complex globalization and technology era. This study examines CSR's role in protecting and promoting human rights through a comprehensive literature review. The method used is literature analysis, which includes empirical studies, reports, and academic publications related to CSR implementation and its impact on human rights. The findings show that CSR can be an important mechanism to improve corporate transparency, accountability, and compliance with human rights standards. Effective CSR initiatives often involve protecting workers' rights, non-discrimination policies, and ethical supply chain management. In addition, good CSR practices can also help companies manage reputational risk and strengthen stakeholder relationships. However, this study also identified significant challenges, including the lack of consistent regulation and the risk of greenwashing where companies claim commitment to CSR without real action. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of a holistic and sustainable approach to CSR implementation, as well as the need for stricter regulation and greater awareness of consumers and society towards corporate social responsibility. This study suggests further research to explore more effective ways of leveraging CSR to advance human rights across different industrial and geographic contexts.
