Abstract

The halal industry has now advanced and developed quite rapidly. In the beginning, the main focus was halal food, but has now expanded to other fields, such as medicines and medical devices. It is very important to maximize promising opportunities and potential. However, the increase in public interest in halal pharmaceutical products is not commensurate with the availability of halal pharmaceutical products in Indonesia. Therefore, not all generic medicines sold on the market freely have a halal logo or certification, so it is hoped that pharmaceutical products are products that have been labeled halal for consumers so that the products are standardized as halal and safe for use among the public. The aim of this research is to examine halal products from an Islamic and Muhammadiyah perspective. With an in-depth evaluation of these two perspectives, it will provide a comprehensive conception of the importance of halal pharmaceutical products with specific guidelines that can be adopted by various organizations to ensure that pharmaceutical products consumed by Muslims in accordance with sharia principles. This research uses qualitative methods with the type of library research related to the production of halal products as well as the perspective of halal products according to Islam and Muhammadiyah.

Abstract

Sharks in developing their derivative products for pharmaceutical and food purposes, as well as considerations of Islamic law regarding their permissibility for consumption. Indonesia, as a maritime nation rich in marine resources, holds significant potential in managing shark populations. Sharks not only have high economic value through the utilization of various parts such as meat, bones, and skin but also provide valuable raw materials such as liver oil and bone gelatin rich in nutrients. The study notes that these products contain active components like squalene, vitamin A, and omega-3, which offer significant health benefits for treatment and prevention of diseases. Moreover, from an Islamic legal perspective, the majority of scholars regard sharks as halal for consumption, aligning with principles from the Qur'an, Hadith, and the perspectives of Sunni fiqh schools. The importance of implementing the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) in the processing of shark products is also discussed to ensure that all produced items meet cleanliness standards and Islamic values. Thus, this research underscores the substantial potential and relevance of sharks in sustainable fisheries development and halal-oriented pharmaceutical industries.

Abstract

The halal medicine industry in Indonesia faces significant challenges related to the implementation of the Halal Law (UU Halal). Key challenges include distribution and supply chains, as well as compliance with international standards. The application of the halal label can disrupt the domestic drug distribution system, while almost all imported drug active ingredients do not have halal certification. The Halal Law also has the potential to disrupt the investment climate in Indonesia. To overcome this, Indonesia's general initiative needs to establish halal standards that are efficient and consistent with international standards. The government must comply with halal standards regulated in the Codex Alimentarius as part of Indonesia's commitment to the TBT Committee at the WTO. The absence of implementing regulations such as Presidential Regulations (PP) and Ministry of Religion Regulations (PMA) creates legal uncertainty. The practical challenges of implementing the Halal Law are very complex because halal certification will face industry players, most of whom do not wish to obtain halal certification. Digital technologies such as HalalChain, Halal Trail, and HalalGuide can help in verifying and ensuring halal certification compliance. Blockchain, which is often considered a revolutionary technology, can provide transparency and accountability in the halal certification process. The use of this technology can make it easier to verify the validity of halal certification and help Indonesia become a global leader in halal certification.

Abstract

The sale of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription is a serious problem in Indonesia which has an impact on increasing antimicrobial resistance. This study aims to examine the ethics of the pharmacist profession in selling antibiotics without a doctor's prescription from the perspective of Islamic. The method used is a literature-based juridical-normative study. The results of the study indicate that the main factors that encourage violations in the sale of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription are the permissive attitude of pharmaceutical personnel, beliefs formed from personal experience, and weak law enforcement. From the perspective of Islam, this behavior is compared with the Qur'an and As-Sunnah, namely the values of trust, integrity, and prophetic work ethic. Pharmacists are expected not only to carry out their duties in accordance with applicable legal provisions, but also to integrate moral values, social responsibility, and Islamic ethics in every aspect of their professional services.
