Abstract

Islamic community in Java, rich in heritage that is the legacy of their ancestors, including the legacy of literary works and history. These works, in substance reflects the community's culture, which has a soul that is very unique time and unique. Recognized that Islam in Java grow and develop naturallythrough interaction with local culture. This process continued until the end of Islam that developed in Java known as the Islamic Javanese beliefs, Islam has experienced aculturatif and syncretic. Javanese Islamic model can be traced through the works that have left a legacy, one of whom is the workRanggawarsita, Serat Wirid Hidayat Jati.

Abstract

Abstract: The Bersih Desa tradition is a traditional activity that is carried out once a year with the aim of praying for the safety of the village and being grateful for the blessings that have been given by God. The research entitled "The Existence of the Bersih Desa Tradition (Case Study in Baleturi Village, Prambon District, Nganjuk Regency)" focuses on: 1. The history of the clean village tradition, 2. The implementation of the bersih desa tradition, and 3. Functions and elements of religion in the implementation of the tradition Baleturi Village. This research is a qualitative research with historical method. The approach used is an anthropological approach that produces descriptive data and is used to reveal the values ​​of Islamic teachings that are expressed in the bersih desa tradition in Baleturi Village. While the theory used by the author is the theory of religious ceremonies from Koentjaraningrat and the theory of functionalism from Radcliffe Brown. The results of this study indicate that: First, the bersih desa tradition is estimated to have been carried out about 50 years ago in Baleturi Village and is carried out once a year in the month of Suro. Second, a series of events in the implementation of the bersih desa tradition includes the preparation stage and the implementation stage. Third, the functions contained in this bersih desa tradition are social functions and spiritual functions. While the elements of the Islamic religion contained include deliberation, pilgrimage to the grave, tahlil and istighosah, alms, and compensation for orphans. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find out (1) the history of the establishment of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency (2) the Social Function of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency (3) The Architecture of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency. This study uses a historical approach and a cultural approach by Koentjaraningrat, which states that architectural works are one of the most concrete forms of culture. The historical approach is used to describe the history and development of the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque. There are two theories used to facilitate this research, namely, the theory of Continuity and Change and the functional theory. The meaning analysis is used in research to reveal and describe symbols and symbols that act as language in architecture. While the method used in this study is the historical method with heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiographical stages. The results of the data analysis can be concluded that (1) the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque was founded in 1724 AD by Kyai Ageng Muhammad Besari. This mosque has undergone various developments in terms of buildings which are seen regularly from 1978 until now. (2) Historically the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque has had a social function for people's lives as one of the efforts to prosper the mosque. (3) In the architecture of the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque there are meanings and cultural elements that accompany the beauty of the mosque building. The cultural elements are Javanese architectural culture and Middle Eastern architectural culture. Keywords: Architecture, social function, Tegalsari masque
