Abstract

Abstract. Learning discipline is a collection of individual and community behaviors that reflect a sense of obedience, compliance supported by awareness to fulfill duties and obligations in order to achieve learning goals. Learning discipline applied in the school environment will greatly help in improving student learning achievement. Disciplined behavior is always shown by a student who is always present on time, obeys the rules, behaves in accordance with applicable norms. If a student has been disciplined, namely by obeying the rules of doing all school assignments given to him, it will have a good effect on student learning achievement. This study aims to see the picture of learning discipline and learning achievement of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with the Univariate analysis method, and the number of samples is 97 students. Data was taken using a scale of learning discipline and mid-semester exam scores. Based on the results of the univariate analysis, it shows that the frequency distribution of learning discipline is in the medium category with 65 respondents while learning achievement is in the low category with 44 respondents.

Abstract

Students who lose one or both parents face emotional and psychological challenges that can affect their resilience abilities. This study aims to describe how the level of resilience of students with deceased parents at Nusa Cendana University using a quantitative descriptive approach. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Connor-Davidson scale (CD-RISC). The results showed that on average, students with deceased parents had a level of resilience in the moderate category (70%). This finding indicates that despite facing pressure due to the loss of parents, most students are able to maintain a fairly good level of resilience. Further analysis revealed that academic performance, time span of parental loss, and involvement in organizations contributed to the level of resilience, with spiritual influence being the dominant factor. This study highlights the importance of social support and internal factors in building student resilience. The findings provide a basis for the development of interventions that support university students facing the challenges of parental loss.

Abstract

People Living with HIV (PLHIV) have complex challenges in terms of health, social, psychological, and spiritual aspects. Therefore, the meaning of life becomes one of the critical aspects in helping PLHIV to confront every challenge from various aspects of life, so that the author becomes interested in researching the description of the meaning of life in people with HIV. This study aims to determine the meaning of life among PLHIV in Kupang City. The research method employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The sampling technique used in this study employed a purposive sampling method, involving a total of 3 participants. The data collection technique in this study involved semi-structured interviews, utilizing Descriptive Phenomenological Analysis techniques. The results showed that all participants in this study could find meaning in their lives, as seen from aspects such as self-understanding, the meaning of life, changing attitudes, self-bonding, directed activities, and social support.

Abstract

Instagram is a popular social media platform among teenagers and students. Its interesting features make users able to exist and show their abilities, beauty, or other unique things. However, if excessive, this can become a form of narcissism, one of which is influenced by self-esteem. This study examines the relationship between self-esteem and narcissistic tendencies in 221 Instagram user students from the Psychology Study Program at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang. Data were collected using the self-esteem scale and the narcissism tendency scale, based on Coopersmith's theory and Raskin and Terry. The purposive sampling method was used for sampling from a population of 521 students. Spearman correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.246, p = 0.000), which means that the higher the self-esteem, the higher the narcissistic tendencies in college students who use Instagram. This finding confirms that self-esteem plays a role in influencing narcissistic behavior on social media.
