Abstract

Currently, investment activities are very popular with the people of Indonesia and become one of the aspects that affect the economic development of a region. The telecommunications sector is one of the sectors whose stocks show positive movements. One of the ways to determine the capability of a company is to look at the level of profitability of the company. Profitability can be influenced by factors originating from outside the company such as interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates which are generally used as benchmarks for the economy. Meanwhile, there are also factors that come from within the company itself and are usually related to decision making and strategies to be carried out such as leverage, DER, company size, and company age. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Interest Rates, Inflation, DER, Company Size, and Company Age on Profitability, with the object being the telecommunication sub-sector companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2020. This research is included in quantitative research with the method used is multiple linear regression, using F-test and t-test for hypothesis testing. The results of this study prove that interest rates, inflation, DER, company size, and company age simultaneously have a significant effect on company profitability. Partially, DER, firm size, and firm age have a significant effect, however, interest rates and inflation have no significant effect on profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the motivations of children with mild intellectual disabilities when participating in after-school tutoring at SLB C Kedungkandang. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects of this study were children with mild intellectual disabilities who actively participated in after-school tutoring activities. Data were collected through interviews and observations of students, parents, and supporting teachers. The results indicate that the learning motivation of children with mild intellectual disabilities is influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic motivation is evident in their desire to participate in the tutoring sessions, their efforts to complete assignments, and the joy they express while learning. However, these children still face challenges such as getting bored quickly, difficulty concentrating, and being affected by their moods. Meanwhile, external motivation can be derived from parental support, attention from tutors or teachers, a comfortable learning environment, and praise and rewards. Support from a positive learning environment can boost children’s enthusiasm and engagement during tutoring sessions. Therefore, it is important for parents and teachers to work together to create a learning environment that suits the personality and needs of children with mild intellectual disabilities, so that the children’s motivation to learn can develop properly.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of the family environment on the development of children with intellectual disabilities by reviewing the latest literature from the past five years. The family environment is a fundamental aspect in shaping the cognitive, social, and emotional aspects of children with intellectual disabilities who require special intervention. The research method used a systematic literature review (SLR) with a selection process from various national and international journal databases that met the inclusion criteria. A total of 12 selected scientific articles were analyzed to identify the main family factors that impact the development of children with intellectual disabilities, including emotional support, parenting styles, socioeconomic conditions, and levels of parenting stress. The review findings indicate that a warm and supportive family environment significantly contributes to enhancing the independence, social skills, and psychological well-being of children with intellectual disabilities. Conversely, high levels of parenting stress and limited family social support represent significant barriers to child development. This study emphasizes the importance of the family’s role in designing holistic interventions and adaptive parenting strategies to support the optimal development of children with intellectual disabilities. The implications of the research findings can serve as a reference for practitioners, educators, and policymakers in improving the quality of life for children with special needs
