Abstract

Introduction: The progression of dengue hemorrhagic infection varies on everyone. Assessing the severity of dengue degree as early as possible determine the patients prognosis and is required for adequate management, preventing shock and further bleeding. Clinical symptoms can be monitored and different in each degree of dengue so that it is can be used for vigilance and monitoring of dengue patients. Objectives: To determine the association between clinical symptoms with severity degree of dengue hemorrhagic fever. Method: This research was an analytic observational study with prospective cohort design at RSUD Sleman and RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul, DIY. Subject of the research was determined from medical records and anamnesis using questionnaire on the first day of hospital admission and following during treatment. Statistical analysis was used bivariate analysis following by multivariate analysis on variables that have p<0,05 with CI=95%. Result: Seventy-two patient were included in this study consisting of 46 severe dengue patients and 26 mild dengue patients. Severe dengue was most commonly experienced by the age of 19-65 years and male gender. The average of fever length is 4 days and hospitalization length are 6 days. Clinical symptom fever, headache, myalgia, arthralgia, petechiae, nose bleeding and bleeding gum are not significant with dengue degrees while vomiting (OR=16,434), were an association with dengue degrees. Conclusion: There is an association between clinical symptoms vomiting with dengue degree.

Abstract

Perilaku seseorang sangat dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pengetahuannya dalam memahami suatu kondisi untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Meskipun peserta didik telah menerima pembelajaran tentang sistem pencernaan dalam mata pelajaran Biologi, hal ini belum sepenuhnya tercermin dalam perilaku makan yang sehat. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di kelas XI IPA MA Tarbiyatut Tholabah Lamongan, ditemukan bahwa meski siswa telah memahami materi sistem pencernaan, banyak dari mereka yang belum menerapkan kebiasaan makan yang baik, yang berdampak pada gangguan kesehatan seperti nyeri lambung. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisa keterkaitan pada pemahaman terhadap sistem pencernaan dengan kebiasaan makan sehat siswa. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional non-eksperimental, penelitian ini melibatkan 87 siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes dan angket dianalisis mengacu pada teknik korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Terhadap hasil analisa yang dilakukan, didapati bahwa pemahaman siswa berada pada tingkat sedang (66%, rata-rata skor 56,8), dan perilaku makan sehat tergolong tinggi (70%, rata-rata skor 64,19). Namun, hasil korelasi menunjukkan tidak adanya keterkaitan berarti antara kedua variabel tersebut (r = 0,199; p = 0,639).

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between students’ comprehension of the human movement system and their attitudes toward maintaining bone and joint health among XI MIPA students at MA Wahid Hasyim Balung Jember. Using a quantitative correlational research design, data were collected through multiple-choice tests measuring students’ comprehension and Likert-scale questionnaires assessing their attitudes. A total of 66 students participated in the study, with data analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test. The findings indicated that students had a high level of comprehension, with 77% achieving a very high category and 11% classified as high. However, their attitudes toward bone and joint health were predominantly moderate, with 74% in the medium category and only 24% in the high category. Statistical analysis revealed no significant correlation between comprehension and attitude, as evidenced by a correlation coefficient of -0.056 and a p-value of 0.653 (p > 0.05). These results suggest that despite possessing strong cognitive understanding, students do not necessarily translate their knowledge into proactive health behaviors. The findings highlight the need for educational strategies that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, encouraging students to adopt healthier behaviors.

Abstract

In the context of education in Indonesia, particularly in schools, a prevalent problem persists wherein a significant number of students exhibit a lack of concentration towards their studies and instead engage in various extracurricular pursuits. The objective of this study is twofold: To determine the combined impact of emotional intelligence and learning styles on the biology learning outcomes; and to ascertain the individual effects of emotional intelligence and learning styles on the biology learning outcomes. This study employs a quantitative methodology utilizing survey research techniques conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Jember. The researcher employed Arikunto's sampling technique, which states that if the number of participants is fewer than 100, the entire population can be considered as the research sample. In this study, a sample of 60 pupils was taken. Data collecting methods employ surveys and documentation, while data analysis involves the utilization of multiple linear regression. The research findings indicate that the F count value of 11.532 is statistically higher than the F table value of 3.16. Therefore, it can be concluded that the combination of emotional intelligence and learning style has a significant impact on the biology learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 4 Jember. Furthermore, the emotional intelligence (tcount 2,968 > ttable 1,672) and learning styles (tcount 2,849 > ttable 1,672) individually also has a direct influence on the biology learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 4 Jember.

Abstract

The study's goal is to find a correlation between learning the excretory system material and the behavior of keeping a healthy lifestyle in class XI Science students at MAN 3 Jember. This research uses a non-experimental correlational quantitative approach. The population of this research was students of class XI IPA MAN 3 Jember, totaling 169 respondents. The samples taken were 118 respondents using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The data collection instruments used were tests on the variable understanding of the excretory system material and questionnaires with a Likert scale on the behavioral variable of maintaining a healthy life. Data analysis uses the product moment correlation test. Based on research data analysis, it shows that students' understanding of the excretory system material is categorized as moderate with a percentage of 84% and an average score of 12,3. Meanwhile, the behavior of maintaining a healthy life is in the medium category with a percentage of 59% and an average score of 27,5. The results of the product moment correlation analysis show that there is no relationship between understanding the excretory system material and the behavior of maintaining a healthy life in class XI Science students at MAN 3 Jember. The obtained significance value of 0.442 > 0.05, which means that Ha is rejected and H0 is accepted.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using Biocard Media on students' competence in comprehending the material regarding to the Human Reproductive System. The research used a quantitative technique utilizing a Quasi experimental research design known as Nonquivalent Group Posttest Only Design. The sampling technique utilized a purposive sampling technique, with science class 2 being chosen as the control group and science class 1 as the experimental group. Data gathering methods include assessments and written documentation. The data analysis approach utilizes the t test. The research findings indicate that the experimental class students achieved a higher average score for mastery of concepts in the posttest compared to the control class. Specifically, the average score was 75.77 for the experimental class and 70.96 for the control class. Additionally, it was shown that Biocard Media had a substantial impact on students comprehension of concepts, as indicated by a significance value of 0.026.
