Abstract

The strength of the mechanical and physical properties of particle composite materials is influenced by the volume fraction of the powder and matrix. The pretreatment was carried out by soaking 2% NaOH for 1 hour. The results of the MOE treatment mechanical highest test value at the powder volume fraction of 30:70%, which was 6145.51 kgf/cm² and the highest MOR test value at the 30:70% volume fraction, which was 167.38 kgf/cm². Meanwhile, the highest non-treatment MOE value at the 30:70% powder volume fraction was 5540.9 kgf/cm² and the highest MOR test value at the 30:70% volume fraction was 156.6 kgf/cm². The results of the physical properties test were the highest density at the 30:70% powder volume fraction of 0.87 gr/cm³ and the highest density at the 30:70% non-treatment powder volume fraction of 0.78 gr/cm³. The results of the MOE mechanical test do not meet the JIS A 5908-2003 standard while the MOR mechanical test and physical test have met the JIS A 5908- 2003 standard. The results of microstructure testing showed that at a fraction of powder volume of 30:70% it was seen that the particles were coarser which blended perfectly with the matrix.

Abstract

Kata kunci : CoRTN; Kebisingan; Pusat Pertokoan; Simpang tak bersinyalABSTRACTThe noise in an unsignalized intersection area has become a major concern in terms of  environmental impacts and public health like at the intersection of Pancor Shopping Center (PTC) in East Lombok as a trading area. Various factors contribute to noise level including traffic volumes, vehicle types, average speed, and road surface characteristics. These factors are analyzed by CoRTN (Composite Noise Rating Number). This study figures out that that the noise level at the four-way intersection of PTC Pancor Market in 2023 reaches 71.74 dB based on CoRTN calculations and continues to increase by >0.2 dB annually until 2028. This noise level exceeds the maximum standard for noise level stipulated in the Minister of Environment Decree No. 48 regarding the Maximum Noise Levels for Commercial Areas, which is 70dB, indicating the necessity for noise management in this area. Keywords : CoRTN; Noise; shopping centre; unsignalized intersection

Abstract

One of the main challenges in mining activities is environmental issues, especially the risk of damage to natural resources. In general, mining activities aim to maximize the utilization of mining resources that exist on the earth. PT Bumi Suksesindo (PT BSI), as the first national private company in Java Island engaged in high sulfidation epithermal gold mining, strives to implement good environmental management and monitoring practices in every stage of its mining activities, from exploration to production, by applicable regulations. This study aims to review the water quality at PT Bumi Suksesindo, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is found that PT Bumi Suksesindo carries out water quality monitoring consistently and refers to the regulation, namely the Regional Regulation of East Java Province Number 2 of 2008 concerning Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control in East Java Province.

Abstract

The Jangkok River in Mataram City, Nusa Tenggara Barat, experiences severe pollution due to domestic and industrial waste. To monitor water quality in real-time, the Online Monitoring (ONLIMO) system has been implemented. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of ONLIMO compared to laboratory analysis in terms of accuracy, time, and cost. Physical and chemical parameters such as BOD, COD, DO, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, TDS, and turbidity were analyzed using the Pollution Index (IP) method based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 115 of 2003. The results showed an average Ci/Lij value of 1.70 with a maximum IP of 115.97 from ONLIMO, while the laboratory analysis produced an IP of 98.26 with a maximum Ci/Lij of 138.9. Nitrite (11.15–14.35) and turbidity (6.55–9.74) were identified as dominant contributors to pollution. In terms of efficiency, ONLIMO proved faster, with real-time monitoring and lower operational costs compared to laboratory methods, which require sample collection and manual analysis. However, ONLIMO has limitations in detecting certain parameters such as BOD. Overall, ONLIMO is considered efficient and effective for monitoring the water quality of Jangkok River, with potential improvements through the integration of additional methods for more accurate and comprehensive results.
