Abstract

This paper examines the representation of the proverbmanjing ajur ajer as used in a number of articles using the proverbmanjing ajur ajer. The aim is to explore the relevance of the values in the proverbs as a means of achieving educational goals. Using a qualitative approach themanjing ajur ajer proverbs selected from written and oral sources were studied. Although used in different contexts the use of these proverbs can largely be interpreted as character education values in positive attitude and behavior. It is also argued thatmanjing ajur ajer proverbs are represented positively, such representation is seen as a virtue. This research contributes practically to the achievement of students' affective competence.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) analyze the grammatical elements of sesulih pratama purusa phrases or third-person pronominal phrases found in the transliterated book of Raden Said text. (2) explain the types of iconicity of sesulih pratama purusa phrases or third-person pronomina phrases found in the transliterated book of Raden Said text; and (3) describe the reference form and meaning of the iconicity of sesulih pratama purusa phrases or third-person pronomina phrases found in the transliterated book of Raden Said text. Data collection was conducted using the listening method with a note-taking technique. The data were analyzed using agih method with semantic approach. This study found that the grammatical elements of third-person pronomina phrases and nomina phrases hold the most usage role, as many as 20 times from the total data of 28 third-person pronomina phrases. A total of 28 forms of third-person pronominal phrases were found to be the most iconic in the form of symbols. The most common reference for third-person pronoun phrases is endophoric reference, anaphora, followed by katafora.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the decline in morality among the younger generation. The novel Wong Wadon Dinarsih by Tamsir A.S. contains many moral values that can be studied and applied in everyday life. This study aims to describe the structure and moral values in the novel Wong Wadon Dinarsih by Tamsir A.S. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study technique. The source of data for this study is the novel Wong Wadon Dinarsih by Tamsir A.S. The research data consists of quotations and sentences that contain the structure of the novel and moral values in the novel Wong Wadon Dinarsih by Tamsir A.S. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are (1) the structure that builds the novel includes the plot, characters and characterization, setting, and point of view in the novel Wong Wadon Dinarsih by Tamsir A.S. (2) the moral values contained in the novel include humans with themselves, humans with other humans, and humans with God.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the symbolic meaning of offerings (sesajen) in the nyekar ritual at the tomb of Kyai Langsur located in Klurahan Hamlet, Sukoharjo District, Sukoharjo Regency. The nyekar tradition accompanied by offerings is one of the cultural and spiritual practices of Javanese society that is still preserved today. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with the tomb caretaker, local residents, and pilgrims, as well as documentation of ritual activities. The validity of the data was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation, while data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the offerings in the nyekar ritual contain symbolic meanings that are collectively understood by the community as a medium for conveying prayers, good intentions, gratitude, and respect for ancestors. Each element of the ubo rampe (ritual offerings) has its own meaning representing values of purity, sincerity, inner peace, and spiritual readiness in prayer. The series of nyekar rituals, starting from the preparation of offerings, the procession around the village, to the collective prayer at the tomb, forms a unified symbolic meaning that reflects the spiritual relationship between humans, God, and ancestors. This tradition also represents local wisdom and the cultural identity of the Javanese community that continues to be preserved.

Abstract

This study motivated by the importance of speech acts in language use during social interactions, particularty theough directive speech acts in conversation. The javanese film Brambang Apus by Paniradya Kaistimewan contains various speech acts that reflect social values in Javanes culture. This study aims to describe the form and function of directive speech acts in the dialogue of the film`s characters. The method used is qualitative descriptive with literature study. The research data consists of utterances between characters in the film Brambang Apus. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study snow six types of speech acts, namely 1) Requests with the functions of asking, praying, and inviting. 2) Questions with the functions of asking interroganting. 3) Commands with the funtions of demanding, directing, and instructing. 4) Phohibitions with the functions of forbidding and restricting, and instructing. 5) Permission with the function of allowing. 6) Advice with the functions of counseling and giving guidance.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption presents complex challenges for the acquisition of mother tongue in early childhood (golden age), especially Javanese which has an upload-ungguh system. This study aims to describe the implications of gadget use on the influence of Javanese language development in children aged three to six (3-6) years in Karangayar Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted interactively to map children's speech and behavior patterns. The results show that high intensity of gadget use without supervision causes degradation of pragmatic abilities, which manifests in passive verbal responses, linguistic interference (code mixing), and imitation of aggressive diction from online content and games. However, positively, gadgets can potentially become instruments of cultural preservation if used to access educational content that enriches children's Krama Javanese lexicon. The conclusion of this study confirms that the role of parental mediation (digital parenting) is a determinant variable in maintaining the balance between digital literacy and ethics.

Abstract

Analysis of the Main Character's Inner Conflict in the Novel Wanita Metakil aims to identify the factors that give rise to inner conflict as well as the problem-solving strategies employed by the main character in accordance with the narrative structure of Wanita Metakil by Trijana PR. This study employs a literary psychology approach, a gender perspective, and literary function theory employing a descriptive qualitative approach. Information was gathered via textual examination and the documentation of conversations. supported by theoretical triangulation encompassing Freud’s psychoanalysis, Coser’s conflict theory, and Todorov’s structuralism. The findings indicate that the main character’s inner conflict emerges from a complex interaction of internal and external factors, social norms, and gender constructions within Javanese society. These conflicts are manifested in tensions between personal desires and social responsibilities, resulting in psychological pressure and moral dilemmas. Conflict resolution is achieved through coping strategies in the form of cognitive restructuring and emotional regulation. This study enhances the understanding of the interrelationship between character psychology, social norms, and gender dynamics in Javanese literary works. Keywords: inner conflict, literary psychology, gender   ABSTRAK Analisis psikologis batin tokoh utama novel Wanita Metakil bertujuan untuk menentukan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan munculnya konflik batin serta strategi penyelesaian masalah yang digunakan tokoh utama sesuai dengan alur cerita dalam novel Wanita Metakil karya Trijana PR. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra, perspektif gender, dan fungsi sastra dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui telaah teks dan pencatatan dialog, serta didukung oleh triangulasi teori yang meliputi psikoanalisis Freud, teori konflik Coser, dan strukturalisme Todorov. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik yang terjadi dalam hati tokoh utama timbul karena adanya hubungan yang rumit antara faktor dari dalam diri dan luar, serta norma-norma sosial.serta konstruksi gender dalam masyarakat Jawa. Konflik tersebut terwujud dalam pertentangan antara keinginan pribadi dan tanggung jawab sosial yang menimbulkan tekanan psikologis dan dilema moral. Penyelesaian konflik dilakukan melalui strategi koping berupa penataan kognitif dan pengendalian emosi. Temuan penelitian ini memperkuat pemahaman mengenai keterkaitan antara psikologi tokoh, norma sosial, dan dinamika gender dalam karya sastra Jawa. Kata kunci: konflik batin, psikologi sastra, gender

Abstract

Javanese script is often considered a "bogeyman" or a frightening subject for elementary school students, one of which is for students of SDN Jombor 01, Sukoharjo. This is due to several factors, including the lack of student interest and technical difficulties in distinguishing similar character shapes as well as the educational background of the class teacher in teaching Javanese. The main objective of this activity is to increase student interest in learning, facilitate mastery of reading and writing techniques, and eliminate negative perceptions through pictorial media. Students are expected to no longer view Javanese script as ancient material, but rather as a skill that is still relevant to modern technology. The implementation method is carried out in stages including: (1) Socialization to change mindsets; and (2) Training using pictorial media and niteni techniques (comparing similar letters). The "learning through play" approach is integrated throughout the process to maintain student enthusiasm. The targeted output of this program is an illustrated "Prasaja Javanese Script Quartet Card" with different colors as the background. "Java is Easy". The urgency of this community service activity lies in the importance of transforming learning methods to facilitate memorization through a visual approach as an effort to preserve cultural heritage amidst the rapid flow of technology.
