Abstract

The permeability coefficient value is one of the most important parameters in soil mechanics. Quick, simple, and digital direct soil permeability tests in the field are needed to obtain data representing conditions. This research aims to create a portable soil permeability test tool based on microcontroller automation used as a project-based learning for Transportation Cadets peculiarly Palembang Aviation Polytechnic Cadets for new experiences of new learning circumstances. This research method based on the principle of permeability testing using the constant-head method by analyzing the requirements quantitatively. This principle uses water change level parameters, which are used to test the infiltration rate in sample soil. Furthermore, measurements of changes in water level are used by water leveling sensors and processed using Arduino Uno based on fuzzy logic with access to results via the web, tool design, and simulation using SIMULINK software. The results of designing a digital measuring instrument for permeability using the constant head method have been validated for its schematic circuit using SIMULINK and can work without error. In conclusion, a model based on Darcy's Law equation and constant head to find the permeability coefficient can be generated, which can then be a prototype of the tool. It concluded the design of constant head permeability meter digital is useful as project-based leaning media for the Palembang aviation polytechnic. Furthermore, the equipment design will be the first digital measuring tool for permeability coefficient using the constant head method. The design has advantage to measure the soil permeability coefficient at the airport in the fastest way.

Abstract

Airports heavily rely on stable electricity, with transformers as essential components for converting electrical voltage. High temperatures in transformers can cause degradation of the cooling oil, insulation damage, and a reduction in the transformer's lifespan that coul be degrade aviation safety standard. The incident on the transformer at SS2 Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang due to overheating caused a significant impact on airport operations. This research aims to develop microcontroller technology to identify and predict potential issues in critical electrical components, particularly transformers, before failures occur and conduct the system testing. This effort is relevant to a safety strategy based on predictive maintenance to prevent accidents. This research using the fourth stage of the Maxim’s model of R&D method includes planning, development, and testing under conditions that resemble real-life situations. The research began by identifying needs through interviews and observations, which indicated the necessity of monitoring transformer temperature with early notifications and automatic exhaust fan control. The test results show that the system functions well in detecting temperature, activating the exhaust fan when the temperature reaches the threshold, and sending alarm notifications through the Blynk application. Suitability aspect testing indicate that the prototype received a positive response regarding functionality with an average score of 2.67, which falls into the valid feasibility category. It is expected to significantly contribute to developing microcontroller technology in safety, provide databased for predictive maintenance and offer practical solutions for improving the reliability and operational efficiency of electrical distribution systems at airports.

Abstract

Improving the economy and competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is the main focus in regional development, including in the City of Palembang. In the context of globalization and digitalization, e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce have become a potential tool for expanding the market reach of MSMEs. This activity aims to provide understanding and skills to MSME actors in installing, configuring and managing online stores using WooCommerce as a marketing development tool for MSME products in Palembang City. In this context, the main problem formulation is the extent to which MSME players understand and master WooCommerce, the obstacles they face in using it, and the impact of training on increasing competitiveness, product sales and local economic growth. The methods used in this activity are by using training methods, surveys and data analysis. This activity is expected to help MSMEs utilize the potential of WooCommerce to the maximum. Apart from that, this research also measures the positive effects of training in terms of creating new jobs and regional economic growth. It is hoped that the results of this activity can provide guidance for MSME players and stakeholders in developing the marketing of MSME products in Palembang City through e-commerce platforms. Then the socialization results were published on Poltekbang Palembang social media and community service journals. So, it can be concluded from the results of this activity that all participants are able to create online stores in accordance with the guidelines and can increase sales.
