Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the user experience (UX) of academic information system (SIAKAD) using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Although SIAKAD has been running for two years, user experience testing has not yet been carried out to assess whether this application is sufficient to meet user needs or not. Questionnaires were distributed to all lecturers, administrative units, and cadets and 70 people filled out the survey. The results showed positive values on the scale of attractiveness, clarity, efficiency, accuracy, and stimulation with means > 0,8. The negative values are finding on the novelty scale where the mean is < 0,8 or 0.564. The reliability test showed that five of the six aspects were good with Cronbach-alpha > 0.7, while the UEQ weakness was on the novelty scale with an Alpha score of 0.16. A benchmark study conducts, and results shows a scale of accuracy, attractiveness, and stimulation to get an “Excellent” Product rating. Clarity and efficiency scale reach a “Good” category. Poor rating with “Below Average” obtained by novelty scale. Suggestions for further improvement is to re-evaluate the novelty aspect of SIAKAD with important points that must be considered related to innovation, invention, and creative design.

Abstract

The awareness of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to Increase working productivity. There are many cases caused the human error and disregard the standard operational procedure related to OHS. This accident may decline of efficiency due to unexpected operational cost. This issues also affect the inefficiency and ineffectively working circumstances. Furthermore, construction project is one of the highest of risk of accident such OHS. Also, this community service activity encourages the awareness of OHS in construction project. This activity target is library construction’s labors in Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. However, it is not limited to workers, this action involves the owners, managers, and supervisors to commit to OHS. The result is to escalating the understanding of OHS procedure in particularly personal protective equipment.

Abstract

A programmable Logic Controller or commonly called PLC is a device that is programmed according to the needs of specific industrial processes desired based on logic (arithmetic calculations in an order), which aims to control and regulate the desired process to produce the desired output as well. This community service activity is intended as an implementation of the field of airport engineering technology which is expected to provide increased skills that can be a provision in the world of work for the trainees. The activity was focused on conducting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) training for high school students in the city of Palembang. The concept of training is carried out for 1 (one) day using an approach of 30% theory and 70% practice. includes the introduction of PLC systems and programming using ladder diagrams which are expected that students who have attended this training will have skills in the field of automation that can be a provision in entering the world of work. The results of the evaluation showed that the average grade in the practicum was 90.5 (ninety points five).

Abstract

Lack of knowledge of technicians about air conditioning technology causes airport services to be less than optimal. Therefore, community service activities are needed to improve these skills. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge about air conditioning technology. The method of community service is by providing training to the community. At the beginning of the training, the theory and introduction to the components and workings of the air conditioning system were given. Furthermore, they were given practical training using the air conditioning practice module in the Airport Engineering Laboratory of the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. At the end of the training, an evaluation was carried out both in theory and practice. The results of the evaluation of all participants were declared eligible to carry out air conditioning maintenance. Thus, community service activities were declared successful in increasing the knowledge and skills of the participants. It is hoped that with the increased knowledge and skills of participants, airport services to passengers will increase and the aviation industry in Indonesia will be more advanced

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, education and training activities began to shift to online classes. The problem is, the training carried out is only limited to theory-based training, not practical training. The current situation raises new possibilities in changing the learning method to fully online classes, with the character of vocational education, namely student-centered learning. The expected advantage is that education can be applied anywhere, this article explains how education providers develop research and development with the ADDIE method to analyze curriculum and learning models by promoting project-based learning methods where students are expected to be able to develop actively in learning. The TRBU Study Program designed the Arduino IDE microcontroller online training using free TinkerCad simulation with asynchronous learning materials through the LMS and supported by online classes using the zoom application. The results showed that 42.9% of students have high interest in online workshop and 92.9% agree that this online course needs to be re-implemented.

Abstract

Forecasting using the economic factor as indicators seems significant related. The experts also suggest predict the number of traffic in transport by approaching the econometric models. This paper predicting the upcoming number of air freight until 2030. The result shows GDP is significant related to number of air freight. However, the economic crisis also contributes to decreasing the value. Also, the Covid-19 impact the economic in the country. Predicting the number of air freight in 2020 is going down. The number seems gradually grow after two years and assume the pandemic is over soon

Abstract

This research aims to analyzethe hazards that exist at the end of runway 24 at Juwata Tarakan Airport. Then how to reduce the risks that exist in the area. The method that used for this research is the qualitative method. the data collection has been gained by observation, attendingdirectly into the field to analyze the hazards that exist at the end of the runway 24, depth interview with key informant, and document study on the accident historical data of the airport, respectively. Furthermore, the data was analyzed by risk management standardizationof AS/NZS 4360. Theresult show thatthe runwaypositionis near withthe road so it couldendanger motorists who pass on the highway. Moreover, therisk of jet blastbursts might cause an accident. After this research was carried out, a solution was obtained to reduce the existing risks by implementing a system of opening and closing traffic on the highway. In addition, it can also be done by diverting the flow of traffic on the highway.

Abstract

The Airport Management Unit (UPBU) as one of the flight service providers whose obliged tomake, implement, evaluate and improve continuously the Safety Management System (SMS). TheUPBU must be supported by competent personnel of SMS. In order to meet the needs of personnelin SMS, Palembang Aviation Polytechnic collaborates with the Secretariat General of AirTransportation, organized community service activities through SMS training which was heldonline. This activity is aimed at participants are able to explain the concepts of SMS and applythem in their respective work according to national and international standards. This activity wasattended by 19 UPBU employees from all regions of Indonesia and 1 person from the PalembangAviation Polytechnic. The results obtained indicate that training was run effectively from thequestionnaire evaluation of participants. There is an allocation of examination time and internetconnectivity need to be improved from this activity and internet connectivity is one of the importantfactors that support the smooth running of online learning activities.
