Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out about making compost from cow dung with the addition of lamtoro leaves and husks. The research method used is using a questionnaire involving 40 people as panelists who will see the quality of the compost based on texture, smell and color. compost. With 3 repetitions for each treatment. Based on the research results, the best treatment in this study was P3 with the addition of 50% lamtoro leaves and 50% husks. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended for further research that the husks used are burned briefly first so that the husks become smooth and the composting process can be optimal with fine husk conditions.

Abstract

Broiler chicken farming is a business that is easy for everyone to run. Independent broiler chicken farming businesses often face higher risks, one of the factors being the selling price which tends to be below the cost of goods sold, so farmers often experience losses. Partnership pattern broiler chicken farming is a way to reduce existing risks. Income is one of the important references for breeders to continue their partnership business. The general public must know the income earned by breeders from partnership farming businesses. Research conducted at Marioto Farm used descriptive quantitative methods by describing the results of farmers' income during six production periods. The results of the research obtained show that the total production costs were IDR 510,809,226. Meanwhile, the revenue obtained during the six production periods by partnering with partnerships was IDR 550,484,370. The income received by farmers while running a partnership system livestock business is IDR 41,626,545. The income obtained is income for six production periods. The R/C ratio value obtained shows a result of 1.08, indicating that this livestock business is suitable to be continued. The production BEP obtained during the six production periods was 22,496 kg and the BEP price was IDR 21,031. The conclusion of this research is that the income of farmers by partnering with partnerships earns a total income of IDR 41,626,545. This is quite a large amount for home scale farming. The livestock business in partnership deserves to be continued again

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the production of compost from goat manure with the addition of oyster mushroom substrate (baglog) and EM4. Composting is an effective method of recycling organic waste and improving soil fertility, making it a vital aspect of sustainable agriculture. This study focuses on determining the best mixture of goat manure and baglog in producing high-quality compost, which could serve as an alternative to chemical fertilizers. The research method utilized involved distributing questionnaires to 47 panelists who were tasked with evaluating the quality of the compost based on three sensory attributes: texture, color, and odor. These attributes are critical indicators of compost maturity and usability in agricultural applications. Each treatment was repeated three times to ensure consistent and reliable results. The organoleptic (sensory) test results indicated that the best treatment was P2, which contained 50% goat manure and 50% baglog. This mixture produced compost with the most favorable characteristics in terms of texture, color, and odor compared to other treatments. The combination of organic materials appeared to complement each other well, creating a balanced compost suitable for improving soil quality and plant growth. It is recommended that future research include laboratory tests to analyze the nutrient composition of the compost more precisely. Additionally, field trials should be conducted to test the compost's effectiveness in various agricultural settings and crops, ensuring its practicality as a sustainable alternative to synthetic fertilizers

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the business capacity of the Lestari Farmers Group in Tegalrejo Village, Selopuro District, Blitar Regency, through the implementation of vacuum-packed silage technology. The group, consisting of 36 ruminant livestock farmers, faced key challenges, including limited knowledge of grass-based feed management, suboptimal utilization of excess forage during the rainy season, and traditional business practices. The intervention methods included socialization, technical training on corn stover silage production, vacuum-packaging technology, business management mentoring, market development, and program evaluation for sustainability. The results demonstrated significant improvements: silage production capacity increased from zero to 1,000 kg/month within two months, feed loss was reduced by 30%, and silage quality improved with an optimal pH of 3–4. In terms of management, 100% of group members adopted basic bookkeeping and standardized operational procedures. Digitally enhanced marketing through social media and e-commerce expanded market reach compared to conventional methods, increasing silage pack sales revenue by Rp. 500,000. The program not only boosted income and production efficiency but also established a new value-added business unit specializing in packaged corn stover silage. This integrated model of appropriate technology adoption coupled with management training proved effective and can be replicated for similar livestock farmer groups.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of body weight on fresh semen production of Bali cattle conducted at BBIB Singosari, Toyomarto Village. The research was conducted from 6 June to 13 June 2023. The method used was a survey using semen data for Bali cattle from different bulls and body weight which were grouped into three categories. The data analysis used a one-way test with observed variables such as body weight, semen volume, semen motility, semen abnormalities, and semen concentration. The results of this study mean the body weight of Bali cattle is 502.575 kg, 560.85 kg, 609.9 kg. The average yield of semen volume was 6.31 ml, 5.87 ml and 5.92 ml. The average yield of motility was 69.28%, 73.09%, 67.09%. The average abnormality results were 7.79%, 14.27%, 9.51%. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that there is no correlation with semen volume, semen motility, semen abnormalities, and semen concentration.

Abstract

The development of livestock businesses in Indonesia is a part that is closely related to agricultural development which refers to economic development. The duck farming business is a good business opportunity for the Indonesian people. The semi-partnership system is a system that is almost the same as the independent system, the difference is the sales system. Production sales using a semi-partnership system are sold directly to the factory. This study is inteded to determine the feasibility analysis of a broiler duck business using a semi-partnership system through calculating the break event point (BEP) and revenue cost ratio (R/C). The research method used was observation and interviews with breeders. Observed variables include production costs, income, receipts, BEP values, and R/C values. The data obtained was then analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The research results show that the cost of producing broiler ducks for one year is IDR 2,071,500,000. The income received was IDR 2,409,742,000. The profit obtained was IDR 338,242,000. The resulting R/C value is 1.16, This means that the business deserves to be continued because the R/C value exceeds 1. The analysis result of the BEP unit is 82,860 kg, whereas in this study the total number of ducks harvested was 95,500 kg, this shows that the unit BEP is smaller than the production results in the research. The BEP price obtained was IDR 21,691/kg. Meanwhile, in this study the price obtained was IDR 25,000/kg, this shows the price of BEP is smaller than the price of duck in this study. From the research results can concluded that this duck farming business has made a profit judging from the BEP price analysis and R/C results so that this business is worth continuing.
